Abstract:
A lamp finding particular application in boat trailers and other vehicular applications is provided with a generally unbreakable lamp structure. The lamp preferably is provided with a plurality of LEDs arranged with rows and columns on a circuit card or board. The lamp is constructed by encapsulating the board and LED arrangement in a moldable lens material, which after removal from a suitable mold at least partially defines the lamp body.
Abstract:
A support device is provided for use with an electric lamp having a sealed outer envelope that encloses an environment, and a lamp capsule and end-of-life device positioned within such environment. The support device serves to support the lamp capsule and the end-of-life device within the outer envelope. The end-of-life device is electrically connected in series with the lamp circuit through the support device.

A lamp finding particular application in boat trailers and other vehicular applications is provided with a generally unbreakable lens structure. The lamp preferably is provided with a plurality of LEDS arranged with rows and columns on a circuit card or board. The lamp is constructed by encapsulating the board and LED arrangement in a moldable lens material, which after removal from a suitable mold at least partially defines the lamp housing.
Abstract:
A fluorescent lamp lighting apparatus includes a fluorescent light emitting tube; and an electronic lighting circuit for applying an electric current to the fluorescent light emitting tube. The electronic lighting circuit includes a pair of electrode filaments provided in the fluorescent light emitting tube, a pair of capacitors each connected in series to a respective one of the pair of electrode filaments and connected parallel to the fluorescent light emitting tube, and an inductor connected in series to one of the pair of electrode filaments.
Abstract:
Proposed is a gaseous-discharge lamp, in particular for motor-vehicle headlamps, comprising a burner vessel of glass or the like having at least two electrodes, the burner vessel being provided with a lamp base that includes the electrical terminals and that is insertable into a lamp base socket. Arranged in the lamp base is an electronic ballast unit that supplies the lamp with the necessary ignition and maintaining voltage. By accomodating the balast unit in the lamp base, one can achieve a small-volume gaseous-discharge lamp having short high-voltage leads i an integrated type of construction, making it possible to keep the ignition voltage to a minimum.
Abstract:
A high-intensity discharge lamp includes an arc tube having a pair of main electrodes, a starting circuit having a thermally-actuated switch for disconnecting the starting circuit, and an outer tube for containing the arc tube and the starting circuit, and the lamp is lighted by means of a reactance ballast. The thermally-actuated switch includes an envelope bulb that covers contacts of the thermally-actuated switch. Thereby, occurrence of sustained arc discharge in the outer tube is prevented in the case of a starting failure or a break-off of the arc tube at the end of the lamp's life.
Abstract:
A high pressure discharge lamp is provided with an arc tube and a starter. The starter includes a ferroelectric ceramic capacitor element with non-linear characteristics an a semiconductor switching element, connected in parallel to the arc tube. A pulse stopping thermally-actuated switch is connected in series to the ferroelectric ceramic capacitor element and is operated to OFF by heating of a heating resistor in a non-lighted state of the lamp. Without accompanying reduction of a starting function due to a temperature rise of the ferroelectric ceramic capacitor element, a safety function against a non-lighted state of the lamp is provided.
Abstract:
A power saving environment protection bulb comprises a cover disk having a plurality of ring portions formed therein; at a lower sides of the holes near the bottom of the cover disk being installed with tapered tracks; edges of the bottom of the cover disk being installed with tenons which are spaced with an equal distance; a circuit disk having holes for positive and negative electrodes; a middle section of the end piece having two lateral plates arranged continuously; each plate having a protrusion for sealing a taper groove on the cover disk, upper ends of the plates being formed with a sleeve which is conformable to the hole of the cover disk; a transformer plate having one side installed with two inserting tubes; a lamp seat being a plastic casing; a casing of the seat being combined with a copper cap; an inner side of the casing being formed with buckling grooves, which are arranged with equal space.
Abstract:
In a metal halide lamp having a ceramic, tubular discharge vessel (1), there is fitted outside on the discharge vessel an electrically conducting starting aid (11) which provides an inhomogeneous electric field strength. It comprises a metal wire which extends transverse to the axis and from the frame (8) out to the outer wall of the discharge vessel. It ends there approximately at the level of an electrode (2).
Abstract:
A fluorescent lighting assembly includes an electrically conductive lighting fixture (10) having an electrical socket bar (20), a wireless ballast (30) having lamp circuitry, and lamp receiving sockets (28) mounted thereon. The assembly is adapted for lighting one or more fluorescent lamps (14). In operation, current driven through each fluorescent lamp is returned to the ballast via the fixture. The assembly includes ballast safety circuitry for preventing both electrical shock upon contact with the assembly and risk of fire due to a poor electrical joint within the lamp circuitry.
