Abstract:
An analyzer instrument (1) for optically measuring at least one property of a test medium (4), comprising a light source (20), a light management unit (22) for guiding light emitted by said light source (20) through a detection space (30) in said test medium (4), a light detection unit (24) for detecting at least a fraction of said light scattered, reflected or transmitted by the test medium (4), a power management unit (13), and a data management unit (28). The analyzer instrument (1) is coupled to a power source (10) via a source wiring (7). Said power management unit (13) is distributing energy from the power source (10) via a buffer wiring (18) to said light source (20), and via a further wiring (9, 11) to said light detection unit (24), and said data management unit (28). The data management unit (28) is adapted to exchange measurement data via signal wiring (11) with said light detection unit (24) and with a receiving unit (19), wherein said analyzer instrument (1) is adapted to be operated in a potentially hazardous environment (5).
Abstract:
A method for controlling a plurality of power converters connected to a power supply network is described. Each power converter includes high-power semiconductor devices. Control signals are sent between a controller and a wireless node of one or more of said plurality of power converters using a wireless communication system. The control signals are transmitted to a local wireless node of one or more of a plurality of power converters. The data transmissions include data packets including control information such that a clock of the local wireless node can be synchronized using time synchronization information of the wireless communication system. In other aspects of the invention a system employing the method and a computer program for carrying out the method are described.
Abstract:
A computer implemented method to display an industrial installation, which display may also display information about an event or an alarm in the installation. The method comprises displaying an image which appears to the viewer to be a three dimensional holographic image (1) comprising a view of said industrial installation. The image may also comprise one or more points in three dimensional space and which point or points are each mapped to a corresponding point or position in said industrial installation. A pointing device for actively indicating position on the image reflecting objects or positions in the installation is also described.
Abstract:
A relay interface module that is commutatively connectable to at least one I/O device and a controller, wherein the relay interface module is configured to provide data from the I/O device to at least one controller in a distributed control system (DCS) via a communication interface. An application related to a particular I/O device may then be executed freely on any controller present in a DCS without losing real time connection with the associated I/O device. Data can be transferred from an I/O device to an associated application executed on a controller such that the real time connection between the I/O device and the application being executed is maintained.
