Abstract: Provided are a cleaning agent and a cleaning liquid that prevent a reduction in the rejection rate of an RO membrane which may occur when the RO membrane is cleaned and a method for cleaning an RO membrane with the cleaning liquid. The agent for cleaning an RO membrane includes a urea derivative. The urea derivative preferably includes urea (H2N—CO—NH2) and/or biuret (H2N—CO—NH—CO—NH2). The cleaning liquid is an aqueous solution produced by diluting the cleaning agent. The method for cleaning an RO membrane uses the cleaning liquid. Urea and biuret have a structure analogous to amide bonds included in aromatic polyamide RO membranes, and have a strong affinity for amide bond portions. Urea and biuret adsorb onto the amide bond portions, and prevent the amide bonds from being broken by the cleaning liquid.

Abstract: Provided are a method for removing scale and a scale remover that can efficiently remove scale deposited inside a boiler can or the like in an addition amount of chemicals permissible in terms of cost without corroding a boiler, particularly can efficiently remove scale deposited inside a boiler can even in a facility operated with feed water containing high-concentration iron. A method for removing scale deposited in a system of a steam generating facility, wherein polyacrylic acid having a weight-average molecular weight of more than 20,000 and 170,000 or less and/or a salt thereof is added to feed water of the steam generating facility. When the feed water contains iron, polymethacrylic acid having a weight-average molecular weight of more than 1,000 and 100,000 or less and/or a salt thereof is further added in combination.

Abstract: Inflow branch pipes of water to be treated, which are branched from an inflow line of the water to be treated, which is provided on an upper side of desalination chambers of an electrodeionization apparatus, communicate with the desalination chambers, respectively. Both ends of the inflow line of the water to be treated are opened, and a supply pipe of the water to be treated communicates with each of the ends so that the water to be treated can be supplied from both sides. In addition, in a lower side of each of the desalination chambers, outflow pipes of treated water, communicate with each other, and these outflow pipes each join an outflow line of the treated water. In addition, both ends of the outflow line of the water to be treated are opened so that the treated water can be discharged from both sides. According to such an electrodeionization apparatus, it is possible to suppress an increase in a differential pressure during passage of water.

Abstract: Provided are a method and an apparatus for clarifying industrial water that enable industrial water to be clarified to a high degree with a small amount of coagulant instead of an inorganic coagulant, such as PAC, aluminum sulfate, or ferric chloride, which need to be used in a large amount for clarifying industrial water and are capable of producing treated water having qualities particularly suitable for an RO membrane treatment. The method for clarifying industrial water includes adding a melamine-formaldehyde resin acid colloidal solution to industrial water in order to coagulate the industrial water and subsequently filtering the coagulated water. The coagulated water may be directly filtered with a pressure or gravity filtration device, or with a microfiltration or ultrafiltration membrane module, without being subjected to solid-liquid separation using a sedimentation or floatation separation device prior to the filtration treatment.
