    Abstract: A postprocessing apparatus includes a processing tray on which a print sheet as a target of a postprocess is put, a stopper guide with which the print sheet on the processing tray makes contact, an intermediate roller, a registration mechanism, a guide mechanism, a driving device of the registration mechanism, and a transmission mechanism. The intermediate roller is configured to transport the print sheet. The registration mechanism is configured to move the incoming print sheet transported by the intermediate roller onto the processing tray and align print sheets on the processing tray. The guide mechanism is configured to guide the print sheet moved by the registration mechanism toward the stopper guide. The transmission mechanism is configured to transmit driving force of the driving device to the guide mechanism with a delay.

    Abstract: A color printing system manages ICC profiles by controlling ink use without performing the ICC profile creation operations. To obtain an ink limit for an ICC profile, a table associated with the ICC profile is parsed to determine the ink limit. The ink limit is decreased or increased. For an ink limit decrease, a color over the decreased ink limit is adjusted to meet the new ink limit. The ICC profile is updated accordingly. For an ink limit increase, the combination of primary colors are boosted by a percentage amount. Checks are made with regard to the volume-based ink limit and an quality check operation to accepted the boosted amount. The ICC profile is updated accordingly.

    Abstract: A method is disclosed for calculating similarity rates between electronic documents. The similarity rate is calculated based on a count of matching phrases between the electronic documents and distances between subsequent matching phrases in each of the electronic documents. A system is also disclosed for comparing the electronic documents to obtain their similarity rates. A computing device determines at least one first proximity parameter based on the number of matched words in a matching phrase and at least one second proximity parameter based on distances between the subsequent matching phrases in each of the electronic documents. The similarity rate is determined based on the first and second proximity parameters.

The image forming apparatus 20 includes a writer 24 that writes identification information of the network repeater 30 to a wireless communication tag 22. The terminal 10 includes a display device 12 that presents the identification information read from the wireless communication tag 22, a terminal's communication device 16 that is allowed to connect to and communicate with the image forming apparatus 20, and a transmitter 14 that transmits, to the image forming apparatus 20, the identification information selected by a user and an encryption key entered by the user. The image forming apparatus 20 configures a connection with the network repeater 30 based on the identification information and the encryption key transmitted from the terminal 10.

    Abstract: In the image forming apparatus, a controller makes a reference image formed on an outer circumferential surface of an image carrier and transferred to a belt.
