    Abstract: Techniques are described herein that allow a user equipment (UE) to configure a subcarrier spacing value while monitoring synchronization signals of neighboring cells. In some wireless communication systems, synchronization signals in given radio frequency spectrum band may be transmitted using one of a plurality of different subcarrier spacings. In some cases, a network entity, such as a base station, may transmit an indication to the UE that indicates the subcarrier spacing used by a cell to transmit a specific set of synchronization signals. In some cases, the UE may select a subcarrier spacing based on a database of subcarrier spacings stored locally by the UE. In some cases, the UE may select the subcarrier spacing based on a predetermined configuration.

    Abstract: User Equipment (UE) receives, from a base station (BS), at least one resource block (RB). The RB includes at least one reference signal (RS) resource element (RE) of a first physical channel of the UE. The UE estimates a channel quality of a second physical channel of the UE as a function of the at least one RS RE. In some examples, the BS associates the transmission of a first physical channel reference signal (RS) and the transmission of a second physical channel RS. The BS then signals, BS to the UE, the association between the first physical channel reference signal and the second physical channel reference signal.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first message that indicates an inter-band carrier aggregation configuration. The inter-band carrier aggregation configuration may identify a set of carriers for carrier aggregation communication between the UE and a network entity. The UE may receive a second message that indicates a random access procedure configuration. The random access procedure configuration may include a rule pertaining to whether RACH messages may be transmitted over multiple carriers, a mapping of multiple of RACH occasions to at least one SSB index, and a repetition number that indicates a quantity of RACH message repetitions for transmission by the UE. The UE may transmit the quantity of RACH message repetitions based on the mapping. The quantity of RACH messages may be transmitted over one carrier or over the multiple carriers of the set of carriers based on the rule.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a message indicating that the UE is to execute a make-before-break handover procedure. The UE may transmit, during the make-before-break handover procedure and based at least in part on a prioritization rule, a first uplink communication to a target base station. The prioritization rule may indicate a relative priority for different uplink communications included in a group of uplink communications. The group of uplink communications may include at least the first uplink communication to be transmitted by the UE to the target base station and a second uplink communication to be transmitted by the UE to a source base station during the make-before-break handover procedure. Numerous other aspects are described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station via a reconfigurable surface, a set of reference signals reflected by the reconfigurable surface using a set of precoder configurations. In some aspects, the set of reference signals are transmitted within a set of reference signal occasions of a sweep procedure associated with configuring the reconfigurable surface with different precoder configurations of the set of precoder configurations for reflecting signals. The UE may additionally transmit, to the base station via the reconfigurable surface, a feedback message including an indication of at least one precoder configuration of the set of precoder configurations based on receiving the set of reference signals. The UE may then receive, from the base station via the reconfigurable surface, a downlink transmission based on transmitting the feedback message.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for indication of channel state information (CSI) for multiple CSI codebooks associated with multiple different sets of antenna ports, where CSI parameters for one or more of the codebooks are reported as differential values relative to reported values of another of the codebooks. A user equipment (UE) may receive a CSI report configuration that includes a set of CSI resources and multiple codebooks for multiple different sets of antenna ports. The UE may identify a first set of CSI parameters associated with a first codebook, and may identify a second set of CSI parameters associated with a second codebook. The UE may transmit a CSI report that includes the first set of CSI parameters and a set of differential CSI parameters that indicate a difference between the first and second sets of CSI parameters.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a network entity may use a lower power sleep procedure to reduce power consumption, and monitor for a wake-up signal (WUS) from at least one user equipment (UE) during configured WUS occasions. The WUS from one or more UEs may provide information of one or more attributes of data traffic that is present at a transmit buffer of the one or more UEs. A WUS configuration may be provided from a network entity that allows the selection of a particular WUS to indicate one or more attributes of the data traffic at the UE. The WUS may convey information such as buffer status, power headroom, a priority of traffic, latency targets of the traffic, or any combinations thereof. The WUS may also give an indication of a requested duration of an active mode at the network entity.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A first wireless communications device may receive, from a second wireless communications device, a signal that is indicative of a phase-change pattern applied to communications between the first wireless communications device and the second wireless communication device by a reconfigurable intelligent surface reflecting the communications. The first device may determine the phase-change pattern from the signal. The first device may transmit a message to the second wireless communications device, wherein at least one of a content or a transmission property of the message is based at least in part on the phase-change pattern.
