Abstract: A method of manufacturing a flexible laminate electronic device and the flexible laminate electronic device itself is disclosed. The method includes placing electronic components over a flexible substrate layer that includes electrical connections between ones of the electronic components. A first flexible additive layer that includes apertures is positioned to align ones of the electronic components in respective ones of the apertures. A subsequent flexible additive layer is arranged over the first flexible additive layer and the apertures are aligned around respective portions of ones of the electronic components protruding above the first flexible additive layer. A flexible cover layer is emplaced over the subsequent flexible additive layer.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for creating a monitoring network are described. A server associates a master wireless node with a package in a first set of associated packages. The server and the master wireless node communicate with one another over first type of wireless communications interface. The server also associates a peripheral wireless node with another package in the set and with the master node. The peripheral wireless node and the master wireless node communicate with one another over a second type of wireless communications interface. The peripheral node includes a sensor operative to generate sensor data by sensing an environmental condition. The master wireless node processes the sensor data to generate one or more package-level statistics of the processed sensor data.

Abstract: A method includes instructing a first sensing device to enter a first state, the first state comprising a first set of functions and behavior for the sensing device. The first sensing device is instructed to aggregate sensing data, the sensing data comprising measurements of the property of the surroundings of the first sensing device measured by the at least one sensor. Relevant data from the aggregated sensing data is stored on one of a memory of the first sensing device, a database of a central database and control system associated with the first sensing device, and a memory of a client device. It is determined that a first event has occurred based on the aggregated sensing data, and responsive to the determining that the first event has occurred, the first sensing device is instructed to enter a second state.

Abstract: The disclosure features a method of creating a communications network. In this method, a first tape node includes a first type of wireless communication interface and a second type of wireless communication interface having a longer range than the first type of wireless communication interface. A second tape node includes the first type of wireless communication interface that is operable to communicate with the first tape node over a wireless communication connection established between the first type of wireless communication interfaces of the first and second tape nodes. Over a wireless communication connection, the first tape node sends programmatic code executable by the first tape node to function as a master tape node with respect to the second tape node.

Abstract: A wireless tracking system for tracking and monitoring assets is disclosed herein. The wireless tracking system comprises wireless tags. A wireless tag is configured to track a respective asset during delivery to a shipping address. After the asset has arrived at the shipping address, the wireless tag is released to a delivery service to be delivered to the return address for recycling or renovating an electronic component of the wireless tag, e.g., by wired or wirelessly recharging the energy source. In some embodiments, the wireless tracking system remotely monitors a performance level of the energy source via a wireless communication with the wireless tag and, responsive to the performance level of the energy source being below a threshold level, transmits a notification to a user of the wireless tracking system to ship the wireless tag to the return address for renovation or recycling.
