Abstract: A method for braking a vehicle to a stop on a sloping section of a roadway wherein a slope inclination of the roadway section, a vehicle speed, an acceleration, and a vehicle brake operation status of the vehicle are continuously ascertained. The slope inclination of the roadway section and the vehicle brake operation status are compared with predetermined threshold values. The method includes activating a braking torque, continuously determined based on the slope inclination, the driving speed, and the acceleration when the instantaneous slope inclination of the roadway section reaches or exceeds the predetermined threshold value for a sloping section and the vehicle brake operation status lies within a predetermined range or value. The braking torque being independent of the vehicle brake operation status.

Abstract: Disclosed are a vehicle control apparatus and a control method thereof. The vehicle control apparatus and the control method thereof include an input portion configured to receive an engagement operation signal for stopping from an electronic parking brake (EPB) apparatus and a current wheel speed value and a current acceleration value sensed by a sensing apparatus; a determiner configured to determine whether the engagement operation signal is generated at a time immediately before a vehicle is stopped and thus whether a current state is a first state on the basis of the current wheel speed value; when the current state is determined as the first state, determine whether the current state is a second state in which the vehicle is intended to be stopped on land that is flat on the basis of the current acceleration value; and, when the current state is determined as the second state, determine that the current state is a third state in which it is impossible for the EPB apparatus to determine an inclination; and a controller configured to turn off an inclination determining mode of the EPB apparatus and turn on an inclination determination impossible mode of the EPB apparatus when the current state is determined as the first state, the second state, and the third state, thereby controlling the EPB apparatus to lower a current braking force value of the EPB apparatus to a target braking force value which is set to correspond to the inclination determination impossible mode.

Abstract: A vehicle stop maintaining system comprises an automatic transmission, an automatic stop-restart mechanism for automatically stopping and restarting an engine, a foot brake mechanism for braking vehicle wheels through hydraulic brake mechanisms, a brake force control mechanism having a pressurizer that increases hydraulic brake pressure applied to the hydraulic brake mechanisms, and for braking the wheels by controlling the pressurizer independently from brake pedal depression, a controller configured to maintain a vehicle stopped state by operating the automatic stop-restart mechanism to stop the engine and operating the brake force control mechanism to keep initial hydraulic brake pressure according to the brake pedal depression, and a drive force state determining module for determining a drive force stabilized timing. The controller operates the automatic stop-restart mechanism to restart the engine and operates the brake force control mechanism to release the initial hydraulic brake pressure when accelerator pedal depression is detected.

Abstract: A transportation vehicle has an autohold selector, such as a push button switch or other human-machine interface (HMI). A gear selector in the vehicle includes forward and reverse gear positions. A brake pedal can be depressed by a driver to actuate a brake actuator when slowing or stopping the vehicle. A control circuit is configured to initiate a brake hold event of the brake actuator in response to predetermined conditions including the autohold selector being on and the vehicle braking to a stop with the brake pedal depressed, wherein initiating the brake hold event is prevented if the gear selector is in the reverse position. If a brake hold event is in progress, then shifting the gear selector to reverse terminates the brake hold event. Low speed maneuvers, such as parking the vehicle, can be performed without a need for manually canceling the autohold feature.

Abstract: A method of managing torque at a vehicle standstill includes outputting torque from a powertrain to satisfy a driver torque demand. The method also includes, in response to a nonzero torque demand resulting in vehicle standstill, applying a friction brake to maintain the vehicle standstill and substantially reducing output torque of the powertrain during friction brake application. The method further includes satisfying driver torque demand using the powertrain and releasing the friction brake in response to the driver torque demand deviating from the nonzero torque demand by more than a predetermined amount.

Abstract: A stopping control apparatus for a vehicle includes: a braking apparatus; a gear-type automatic transmission installed in a powertrain; and a control device configured to control the braking apparatus and the automatic transmission. The control device is configured to shift, after a vehicle transitions from a travel state to a stop state, a range of the automatic transmission to a P range under a state where the braking force applied to wheels is a braking force for maintaining the vehicle in the stop state, and then reduce the braking force applied to the wheels. The control device is configured to change a decrease rate of the braking force such that the decrease rate after a time point at which a predetermined period has elapsed from a start of a decrease in the braking force is less than the decrease rate before the time point.

Abstract: Backstopping Brake System (BBS) is a part with two original and Accessory natures that can be installed on all manual transmission cars which their engine power is transmitted into forward wheels. By installing the system on vehicle forward wheels axle (plus (P)), when plus rotates around its axle in a reverse motion of engine, it locks the plus (P) and prevents unnecessary reverse motion of vehicle. This system can be activated or inactivated from cabin inside wirelessly through control remote system (2-3) or by wire. In the case of necessary reverse motion, this system is inactivated by pulling back its pawl. For safety, when vehicle has a severe shock, this system will be separated from joint point of vehicle body.
