    Abstract: A drive assistance device includes an automatic brake unit configured to perform automatic brake control, a brake hold unit configured to perform a brake hold control keeping the vehicle stopped, a brake hold cancel unit configured to cancel the brake hold control when it is determined that a predetermined cancel condition is satisfied, a surroundings information obtaining unit configured to obtain surroundings information indicating a situation around the vehicle, a maneuver information obtaining unit configured to obtain maneuver information about a driving maneuver performed by a driver of the vehicle, a maneuver determination unit configured to determine, based on the surroundings information and the maneuver information whether the driving maneuver performed during the brake hold control is appropriate for the situation around the vehicle, and a prohibition unit configured to prohibit cancelling the brake hold control as long as it is determined that the driving maneuver is inappropriate.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a vehicle having a park-by-brake module that can control an electronic parking brake coupled to the rear wheels of a vehicle. The park-by-brake module is coupled to an antilock brake module by a controller area network architecture. In one example, a first controller area network and a second controller area network are used to couple the park-by-brake module to the antilock brake module. The controller area network architecture allows the park-by-brake module to receive commands from various control modules. Based on the received commands, the park-by-brake module activates or deactivates the electronic parking brake.

    Abstract: A disc brake including a piston driving mechanism. The piston driving mechanism includes an input member extended in a cylinder in a protruding direction of a piston, including a threaded portion formed on a circumferential surface of the input member, and configured to be rotated with transmission of torque from an electric motor; a tubular rotation linear motion member including an engaging threaded portion that is engaged with the threaded portion of the input member, and configured to move in an axial direction of the cylinder by rotation of the input member to transmit a torque of the electric motor to the piston; a tubular support member supported on a caliper main body to be not rotatable and placed on an outer side in a radial direction with respect to the rotation linear motion member; and a rolling element placed between the support member and the rotation linear motion member.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for driver assistance, wherein a vehicle automatically performs a driving maneuver. In the method, a service brake of the vehicle is first actuated. Then a parking brake of the vehicle is controlled in such a way that the parking brake exerts no braking influence and that the free travel to be overcome for actuation of the parking brake is minimized. In subsequent steps, the service brake of the vehicle is released and an automatic driving maneuver is performed, wherein, if a fault or a specified event occurs, the parking brake is actuated such that the vehicle is braked to a standstill and is kept at a standstill. The disclosure further relates to a driver assistance system that is designed to perform the method.
