Abstract:
A hinge assembly for coupling a sliding door of a vehicle to a drive unit for sliding the sliding door from an open position to a closed position, the drive unit causing the hinge assembly to slide within a guide track as the door moves between the open position and the closed position, the hinge assembly comprising: a first hinge portion; a second hinge portion, the first hinge portion being pivotally secured to the second hinge portion; a cable attachment being secured to the second hinge portion; and a guide surface disposed on a surface of the first hinge portion, the guide surface being configured to make contact with a portion of a cable having an end secured to the cable attachment when the second hinge portion is in a first orientation with respect to the position of the first hinge portion and the cable no longer makes contact with the guide surface as the second hinge portion moves from the first orientation to a second orientation with respect to the first hinge portion.
Abstract:
This window regulator is constituted by a rail which is obtained in a single piece, by injection of a light-weight metallic alloy, integrating a great many of the window regulator components, like for example: the supports (1) for fastening the window regulator to the door of the vehicle, the support (2) and anchoring elements (6) for the drive motor used in the systems of electric window regulators, the coupling elements (5) of the Bowden system for tensioning the cable (4), necessary in the manually operated systems, the housing (8) for the cable-winding drum, the sliding or diverting elements (3) of the cable (4). Moreover, the rail leaves the mould, with an appropriate curvature for correctly following the window. glass, even though the latter has a very complex shape. Thus, the same rail can be used indistinctly for manual window regulators, electric window regulators and dual rail window regulators.
Abstract:
A device (1) for use with a cable-operated door (3), such as garage doors (3) and the like, and a door assembly including the same. The device (1) is intended to reduce the risk of the door (3) falling, or at the very least slow down its descent, in the event of a failure in the counterbalancing mechanism of the door (3), which is generally represented by a loss of tension in a given tensioned cable (5) operating the door (3). The brake device (1) includes a support bracket (9), and a guiding assembly 15 and a braking assembly 17 mounted onto the support bracket (9). The braking assembly includes a swivel component (18) having opposite braking arm (19) and lever portion (20), the lever portion cooperating with the tensioned cable (3) so that in the event of a loss of tension in the cable (5), the braking arm (19) is urged onto an adjacent rail (7) via biasing means (21) for anchoring a knife (45) of the braking arm (19) into the rail (7) and stopping, or at the very least, slowing down the descent of the door (3), with respect to the rail (7).

Abstract:
The window lifter comprises a window slider, a cable driving said window slider, a spring having a mobile cable tensioning portion and having a fixed cable return portion, both portions engaging the cable. This window lifter provides a simplified fabrication and a reduced number of parts.
Abstract:
A window lifter comprises a cable, a window linkage driven by the cable, a fixed device and a cable redirecting device. The cable redirecting device is rotatably mounted on the fixed device and adapted to automatically lock onto the fixed device upon reaching a predetermined angular position. In addition, the cable redirecting device has a cable guiding portion which is not a figure of revolution about the axis of rotation relative to the fixed device. This window lifting mechanism provides a simple structure with few elements. Its assembly is also simple: the cable-redirecting device is rotatably mounted on the fixed device; it is thereafter rotated for tensioning the cable and then locked in a position where the cable is tensioned.
Abstract:
A cable control device (10, 110) in a sectional overhead door (11) having a motor-driven counterbalance system (30) including a spring-loaded drive shaft (31), cable drums (35) carried by the drive shaft, cables (C) attached to and interconnecting the cable drums and the door and forming and releasing cable wraps of the cable on the cable drums upon raising and lowering of the door, and shrouds (10, 110) associated with the cable drums engaging the cable wraps through substantially the circumference of the cable drums to maintain axial alignment of the cable wraps with the cable drums in the event of the development of slack in the cables.

A cable control device (10) for a sectional overhead door (11) having a motor-driven counterbalance system (30) including, a spring-loaded drive shaft (31), cable drums (33) carried by the drive shaft, cables (C) attached to and interconnecting the cable drums and the door and forming and releasing cable wraps on the cable drums upon raising and lowering of the door, and retainers (60) associated with the cable drums engaging a portion of at least one cable wrap to maintain engagement of the cable wrap with the cable drums in the event of the development of slack in the cables.
Abstract:
A radially adjustable guide for a flexible line, a cable or tape, of an automotive regulator assembly is presented. The guide has a longitudinal channel disposed therein for receiving and guiding the flexible line, wherein the guide slidably captures the flexible line within the channel. The guide may be tubular. Alternatively, the guide may include a base portion; a pair of resilient arms extending upwardly from the base portion, defining the channel; and extensions extending inwardly from upper ends of the resilient arms for slidably capturing the flexible line in the channel. Additionally, the base portion of the guide may include a planar outer surface.
Abstract:
A door and door window regulator which prevents the cable member from making contact with the door glass includes a door having inner and outer panels, a guide rail having one end connected to the outer panel and the other end connected to the inner panel, a window bracket slidably supported along the guide rail through a slide member and connected to a door window, and a guide bracket located on the guide rail and supporting a motor. A drum is supported on the guide bracket and is rotated through operation of the motor, and a pulley is supported on the guide rail at a position spaced from the drum. The cable member is wrapped around the drum and includes a pair of cable ends, one end of which is connected with the window bracket after passing through the pulley and the other end of which is directly connected with the window bracket from the drum. The portions of the cable member extending from the pulley are located generally parallel to the length of the guide rail.
