Abstract:
An actuation system used to actuate one or more buttons on a remote control device, such as a key fob, based upon commands that are generated from a mobile device. The actuation system includes an isolation enclosure that prevents RF signals from entering into or leaving an open interior of the enclosure. The enclosure surrounds a controller, a button actuator and the remote control device. The controller receives the command signals from the mobile device and converts the command signals into position commands that are used to activate the button actuator to move the plunger into alignment with one of the buttons on the key fob. The button actuator moves the plunger into contact with one of the buttons which generates an RF signal from the key fob. The controller utilizes a transmitting antenna to communicate a vehicle command signal out of the isolation enclosure for receipt by the vehicle.
Abstract:
A wall console device for controlling a door operator includes a door operator control circuit that transmits signals to at least one door operator, where the at least one door operator operable to move a motorized door. A control pad includes plural touch responsive command selectors and a door operator control means for user control over the opening and closing of the motorized door. The plural command selectors provide input signals to the door operator control circuit and include a command selector to indicate an operating function among a plurality of selectable operating functions, a command selector to select the indicated operating function, and a command selector to cancel the selected operating function. Plural visual indicators assist a user of the wall console device to program the wall console device to control the at least one door operator.
Abstract:
A method for automatically transmitting an activation signal from a trainable transceiver to a remote electronic system, includes receiving, at a control circuit of the trainable transceiver, image data from an image data source; determining, using the control circuit, if the received image data matches one or more reference images stored in memory and associated with the remote electronic system; and determining, in response to a match between the received image data and the one or more reference images, if the trainable transceiver is approaching the remote electronic system. The method includes, in response to determining that the trainable transceiver is approaching the remote electronic system, formatting an activation signal to control the remote electronic system and transmitting, using a transceiver circuit, the activation signal formatted to control the remote electronic system.
Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and a method for a remote control in a portable communication system. The portable communication system includes a remote-controlling terminal which is connected to a remote-controlled terminal using a message necessary for a remote control function to perform a remote control function; and the remote-controlled terminal which is connected to the remote-controlling terminal and performs an operation according to a request of the remote-controlling terminal.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and media for controlling a remote device using a touchscreen of a mobile device in a display inhibited state are provided. In some implementations, a method for controlling media playback devices is provided, the method comprising: detecting a media playback device to be controlled; determining that a touch-sensitive display of a mobile device has entered a display inhibited state in which presentation of a plurality of user interface elements is inhibited; receiving an input from the touch-sensitive display in the display inhibited state; selecting an action of the media playback device to be performed by determining that the received input corresponds to a user interface element from the plurality of user interface elements; and transmitting an instruction to perform the selected action to the media playback device.
Abstract:
Trench shoring apparatuses configured to be moved by construction equipment and including major vertical arms, struts attached to the lower ends of the major vertical arms, connectors rigidly connected to the major vertical arms proximate the upper ends of the major vertical arms, the connectors being configured to detachably couple with the construction equipment. In some examples, struts include strut arms movably supported by the major vertical arm and strut actuators configured to selectively extend and retract the strut arm laterally across trenches, the strut arms being configured to pair with shoring plates proximate outer ends. In some examples, connectors include first retaining arms and second retaining arms extending transverse to the major vertical arm. In some examples, connectors include metallic rings defining openings sized to receive projections of construction equipment. Some examples include remote control receivers and remote control transmitters in electronic communication with the remote control receivers.
Abstract:
In response to a detected presence of an intended target appliance within a logical topography of controllable appliances identity information associated with the intended target appliance is used to automatically add to a graphical user interface of a controlling device an icon representative of the intended target appliance and to create at a Universal Control Engine a listing of communication methods for use in controlling corresponding functional operations of the intended target appliance. When the icon is later activated, the controlling device is placed into an operating state appropriate for controlling functional operations of the intended target appliance while the Universal Control Engine uses at least one of the communication methods to transmit at least one command to place the intended target appliance into a predetermined operating state.
Abstract:
Utilizing remote control profile information for configuration of a remote control device. A media processing device may store a remote control profile, locally or on a server accessible via a wide area network, which may include information for configuring a remote control device to utilize one or more wireless remote control commands for controlling the media processing device. The media processing device may also detect one or more wireless remote control commands for controlling one or more other electronic devices and update the remote control profile to include information for configuring a remote control device to utilize those commands. It may be determined to configure a remote control device according to the remote control profile based at least in part on proximity of the remote control device to the media processing device. The remote control device may then be configured according to the remote control profile.
Abstract:
A remote controller of an image processing apparatus includes: a touch screen which displays an input menu; a menu processor which processes the touch screen to display respective input menus corresponding to at least two modes among a control mode of the image processing apparatus, a character input mode and a handwriting mode; and a controller which controls the menu processor to display the input menu of the mode corresponding to a selection signal when the selection signal for the mode is received.
