Abstract: A system and method for centrally assuring building air quality are provided. The method includes collecting, from a set of sensors of a plurality of sensors, at least air quality data, wherein the plurality of sensors are installed in different locations within a building; analyzing the collected air quality data to determine an air-quality level across different locations within the building; determining whether an adjustment to at least one control device is required, wherein the determination is based on the determined air-quality level and at least one energy-consumption parameter; and actuating at least one building control device when an adjustment is required, wherein actuating at least one building control device allows for control of air quality across different locations within the building.

Abstract: Device, system, and method of dynamically configuring a Sub-1 Gigahertz reception module via a Wi-Fi communication link. For example, a ceiling fan includes rotatable blades, an electric motor to rotate them, and a fan controller to control activation and deactivation and rotation speed of the electric motor. The ceiling fan further includes a non-Wi-Fi wireless receiver unit, such as a Sub-1 Gigahertz wireless receiver unit, to receive incoming non-Wi-Fi signals indicating control commands to the ceiling fan which is associated with an existing Fan Address Code. The ceiling fan also includes a Wi-Fi wireless receiver unit, to receive an incoming Wi-Fi message indicating a replacement Fan Address Code. The ceiling fan includes a Fan Address Code Modification Unit, to replace (i) the existing Fan Access Code of the ceiling fan, with (ii) a replacement Fan Access Code that was received via the incoming Wi-Fi message.

The bridge device also includes input elements by which the bridge device can be used to directly command common functional operations of the one or more controllable appliances. In this manner, common functional operations, such as volume control, playback pause/resume control, etc., may be made readily available without necessitating the use of the smart device, whilst the more sophisticated GUI provided by the smart device remote control app may be advantageously utilized when more complex or less frequently used command functions are to be performed.

Abstract: A wearable device 100 for controlling a controllable device 104 based on an interaction with an object 102 is disclosed. The wearable device 100 comprises a device detection unit 106 for detecting proximity of the object 102, an action detection unit 112 for detecting an action indicative of an interaction of a user wearing the wearable device 100 with the object 102 and a processing unit 108 for generating a control command for controlling the controllable device 104 based on the detected proximity of the object 102 and based on the action indicative of an interaction with the object 102. The wearable device 100 further comprises a communication unit 110 for sending the control command to the controllable device 104. Thereby, the wearable device 100 is able to detect the use of the object 102 and adjust the control parameters of the controllable device 104 to create context-related use conditions. This may improve the control of the controllable device 104 and this may offer new interaction possibilities between the wearable device 100, the controllable device 104 and the object 102.

Abstract: In response to a detected presence of an intended target appliance within a logical topography of controllable appliances identity information associated with the intended target appliance is used to automatically add to a graphical user interface of a controlling device an icon representative of the intended target appliance and to create at a Universal Control Engine a listing of communication methods for use in controlling corresponding functional operations of the intended target appliance. When the icon is later activated, the controlling device is placed into an operating state appropriate for controlling functional operations of the intended target appliance while the Universal Control Engine uses at least one of the communication methods to transmit at least one command to place the intended target appliance into a predetermined operating state.

Abstract: Provided is a lighting apparatus and a method for controlling the same using a mobile device. A lighting system may include a mobile terminal, a hub configured to communicate with the mobile terminal, and an LED lamp configured to communicate with the hub. The mobile terminal may be configured to display an image captured or focused using a camera at the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal may transfer to the hub information corresponding to a selection of a region of the image. The hub may provide a wireless signal corresponding to the information received from the mobile terminal for changing a color of light emitted by the LED lamp. The LED lamp may be controlled based on the ZigBee communication protocol.

Abstract: A controller, a wireless module and a wireless repeater, by which a possibility of interruption of wireless communication between the controller and a wireless operation panel can be significantly reduced. The wireless system includes a robot and a controller for controlling the robot. When the robot is to be taught, a human uses a wireless teaching pendant so as to teach the robot. The controller has a wireless module for wirelessly communicating with the teaching pendant, and the wireless module is configured to receive a signal from the teaching pendant via at least one wireless repeater, as well as a signal directly transmitted from the teaching pendant. In other words, the wireless module receives a multiplexed signal generated by multiplexing signals from the teaching pendant by using at least one wireless repeater.
