    Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes a male/plug/first connector and a female/receptacle/second connector mateable with each other. The first connector includes a first plate and a plurality of first contacts retained to the first plate, and the second connector includes a second plate and a plurality of second contacts retained to the second plate. The first plate includes opposite first long side and second long side to respectively form a first alignment structure and a second alignment structure which is offset from the first alignment structure in the longitudinal direction. The second plate includes opposite third long and fourth long side to respectively form a third alignment structure and a fourth alignment structure to be coupled to the corresponding first alignment structure and second alignment structure during mating.

    Abstract: A vehicle intelligent anti-theft key system and a method operating the same are operated via a two-stage authentication. The first stage authentication is the conventional car key section certification, and the second stage authentication is a newly added preset condition certification. The preset condition can be regarding the time and/or the place, e.g., parking in a parking lot coordinated by the GPS (Global Positioning System) from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m., which is set according to the car owner's live schedule. Even if the thief may use the high-tech replication method to pass the first stage car key section certification, the thief may not be able to pass the second stage preset condition certification due to objective inconsistency.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes: an insulative housing having a front tongue with two opposite surfaces; and plural contacts with contacting portions exposed to the two opposite surfaces of the tongue; wherein the plural contacts are formed from a single contact carrier with each contact having a first contacting portion; and at least one of the plural contacts has a second contacting portion oriented symmetrically with respect to the first contacting portion thereof. A method of making a contact module of the electrical connector is characterized by the steps of: forming the plural contacts from a single contact carrier with each contact having a first contacting portion; and bending at least one of the plural contacts to form a second contacting portion oriented symmetrically with respect to the first contacting portion thereof.

    Abstract: A securing mechanism for retaining a CPU to an electrical connector mounted upon a top surface of the PCB, includes a fastening device mounted upon the top surface of the PCB beside the electrical connector, and a back plate mounted upon the undersurface of the PCB and located between the PCB and a metallic case. The fastening device cooperates with the back plate to be secured to the PCB via a first set of fixing units. The case forms an opening/recessed region to receive a thickened central region of the back plate and is secured to the back plate via a second set of fixing units surrounding said opening. The thickened central region is fully received within the opening in the vertical direction. The first set of fixing units are located in the central region of the back plate.

    Abstract: An electrical contact includes a planar main body, a supporting arm extending upwardly from an upper edge thereof, and a spring arm extending curvedly and upwardly from a lower edge thereof with a contacting region at a free end region. The spring arm will contact the supporting arm when the spring arm is downwardly pressed by the CPU. A connecting part extends from an upper portion of the main body for connecting to a carrier strip, and includes a first connecting section coplanar with the main body, and a second connecting section perpendicular to the first connecting section wherein the carrier strip is connected to an upper edge of the second connecting section so as to be spaced from the corresponding spring arm and supporting arm, thus avoiding improper coating thereupon when the gold coating is applied to the self-contacting regions of the spring arm and supporting arm.

    Abstract: An optical communications module performs automatic recovery from a system hard fault that occurs when a controller of the module detects a particular error. The controller outputs a heart beep signal having a preselected attribute from a first port thereof if an error check operation performed by the controller determines that an error has not occurred. A second port of the controller receives a chip reset signal from automatic control logic that is external to the controller. The automatic recovery logic monitors a first port thereof to determine whether the heart beep signal having the preselected attribute is present at or absent from the first port of the automatic recovery logic and outputs a chip reset signal from a second port of the automatic recovery logic to the second port of the controller. The chip reset signal output from the second port of the automatic recovery logic is in the first or second condition depending on whether the heart beep signal is present at or absent from, respectively, the first port of the automatic recovery logic.
