Abstract: A drying system for compressed gas includes a fluid conduit, a cooler, and a precooler. The fluid conduit receives a flow of compressed gas to be cooled by the cooler and precooled by the precooler. The precooler has a gas-to-gas heat exchange section and a gas-to-liquid heat exchange section. A liquid-gas separator is coupled with the fluid conduit, and with a gas line and a liquid line. The gas line conveys gas to the gas-to-gas heat exchange section and the liquid line conveys liquid condensate to the gas-to-liquid heat exchange section.

Abstract: The belt sander includes a gear casing coupled to a tool housing, the gear casing surrounding one or more gears configured to receive input from a motor to drive a shaft about a drive axis. The belt sander includes a plurality of incrementally spaced apart receivers on the gear casing and an engagement member in operational communication with the belt arm assembly, the engagement member being movable between a locked position and an unlocked position, wherein in the locked position the engagement member engages a receiver to fix the belt arm assembly incrementally relative to the gear casing, and wherein in the unlocked position the belt arm assembly freely rotates relative to the belt arm assembly to pivot the belt arm about the drive axis.

Abstract: An attachment retainer having a collar that, when at a collar locked position, has a first surface that is positioned above an open end of a passageway of a spindle to assist in retaining locking members in locking engagement with a driven tool. When in a collar release position, a second surface of the collar is positioned above the open end of the passageway to provide a space to receive a portion of the locking members so that the locking members can be disengaged from the driven tool. A plunger is displaceable to a position beneath another opening of the passageway to assist in retaining locking members in the passageway. A cam surface of a release ring can engage, and facilitate linear displacement of, release members as the release ring is rotated, which can facilitate axial displacement of the collar from the collar locked position to the collar release position.

Abstract: An air compressor system having a refrigerated dryer and a form of a filter is used between a compressor of the air compressor system and the refrigerated dryer. The filter can include a conical shape such as frustoconical, and includes an outer retainer having a plurality of openings and an inner mesh filter. The retainer and mesh filter can be made out of metal. An end cap and a flange can close off both ends of the conical shape, and a handle can extend from a flange to aid in ease of handling. The components extending between the ends (i.e. between the end cap and flange) may only include the retainer and the mesh filter.

Abstract: A thermal valve unit is provided for use with an oil filled screw compressor. The thermal valve unit can be affixed to an exterior pipe segment and can include a thermally responsive element in thermal communication with compressed air traversing through the pipe segment. The valve unit can include a movable valve member actuated by the thermally responsive element that opens and closes oil passages to selectively route oil either to a heat exchanger prior to being delivered to the oil filled compressor, or directly to the compressor without passing through the heat exchanger.
