Abstract: An image sensor includes a pixel array having a Bayer pattern structure including a first pixel row in which first pixels and second pixels are alternately provided and a second pixel row in which additional ones of the second pixels and third pixels are alternately provided, a first element to control light of a first wavelength band to travel in directions toward left and right sides of the first element and to control light of a second wavelength band of the incident light to travel in a direction directly under the first element, and a second element to control light of a third wavelength band to travel in the directions toward the left and right sides of the second element and to control the light of the second wavelength band to travel in a direction directly under the second element.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a display apparatus and, more particularly, to a display apparatus using a semiconductor light emitting device. In the display apparatus including a touch sensor unit and a display unit controlled based on a touch input sensed through the touch sensor unit, the display unit includes: a conductive bonding layer; and a plurality of semiconductor light emitting devices bonded to the conductive bonding layer and arranged to form a plurality of rows, and the touch sensor unit includes: an X electrode disposed between the plurality of rows of the semiconductor light emitting devices in the display unit; and an Y electrode configured to be combined with the X electrode to sense a touch input.

Abstract: Presented here are manufacturing techniques to create an irregularly shaped electronic display, including a hollow within which a sensor, such as a camera, can be placed. The manufacturing techniques enable the creation of the hollow anytime during the manufacturing process. The resulting electronic display occupies the full side of the mobile device, with the sensors placed within and surrounded by the display.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for forming energy filter layers or shutter components, including energy/light directing/scattering layers that are actively electrically switchable. The energy filters or shutter components are operable between at least a first mode in which the layers, and thus the presentation of the shutter components, appear substantially transparent when viewed from an energy/light incident side, and a second mode in which the layers, and thus the presentation of the energy filters or shutter components, appear opaque to the incident energy impinging on the energy incident side. The differing modes are selectable by electrically energizing, differentially energizing and/or de-energizing electric fields in a vicinity of the energy scattering layers, including electric fields generated between a pair of transparent electrodes sandwiching an energy scattering layer. Refractive indices of transparent particles, and the transparent matrices in which the particles are fixed, are tunable according to the applied electric fields.

The manufacturing method comprises forming an organic transparent photo-resist layer on transparent sub-pixel areas of a transparent substrate; forming a red quantum dot layer, a green quantum dot layer on corresponding red sub-pixel areas and green sub-pixel areas respectively by a sputter printing process using the organic transparent layer as stop walls to improve printing precision. The manufacturing method is simple, and requires less time and facility cost.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a color filter substrate, a liquid crystal display panel, and a display device so as to lower step differences between color-resists and light shielding strips on the color filter substrate to thereby avoid non-uniform rubbing or the color-resist layer being broken while an orientation layer is being rubbed for orientation from occurring due to the step differences, thus avoiding non-uniformity of brightness and hence improving a quality of display. The color film substrates includes a plurality of color-resists arranged spaced from each other, and light shielding strips arranged in gaps between every two adjacent color-resists, wherein the respective color-resists and the light shielding strips adjacent thereto overlap in respective overlap areas each including a plurality of teeth-shaped structures, and a distance between tops of two adjacent ones of the teeth-shaped structures is less than twenty times a thickness of the light shielding strip.

Abstract: An observation device includes a light source unit capable of adjusting a quantity of 390-490 nm illuminating light according to a B1 range and a B2 range having a longer wavelength than the B1 range, and an imaging element that images reflected light from a subject irradiated with illuminating light. The light source unit changes the light quantity ratio of the B1 range to the B2 range depending on whether white light imaging is conducted or narrow band imaging is conducted. The imaging element includes RGB color filters arranged according to pixels and the R color filter transmits more light in an R range and the B1 range than light in the second B range and has a spectral characteristic that satisfies a predetermined conditional formulae.
