Abstract: A system includes a first computing device having a first non-transitory machine-readable storage medium, first communication circuitry, and at least one first processor in communication with the first non-transitory machine-readable storage medium and the first communication circuitry. The at least one first processor is configured to execute instructions stored in the first non-transitory machine-readable storage medium to cause the first communication circuitry to receive a first signal from a first transmission medium, calculate a first authentication value for an object based on data included in the first signal, and cause the first communication circuitry to transmit a second signal to the first transmission medium. The second signal identifies whether the object is authentic based, at least in part, on the first authentication value.

In a case that the reading unit can read the information recorded in the wireless IC tag, the function changing unit changes the function of the image pickup apparatus according to the attitude of the mounting component part, which is determined.

Abstract: An adaptive inventory management system for use in a materials handling facility storing a plurality of items that are each associated with a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag. The management system including a global inventory database subsystem and a RFID interrogator subsystem comprising a plurality of RFID interrogators that are each configured to read the unique identifier of the RFID tag associated with each of the plurality of items that are within a defined boundary of at least one scan zone generated by the respective RFID interrogator and to communicate the unique identifier of the each scanned RFID tag identified within each scan zone of the respective RFID interrogator to the global inventory database subsystem. The management system being selectively configured to effect user desired levels of fidelity and/or resolution with respect to the generated unique identifier of the each scanned RFID tag within a defined space of the materials handling facility.

Abstract: The present disclosure concerns embodiments of an implantable perfusion device that can be implanted in an injured blood vessel to control bleeding without occluding the vessel. In one specific implementation, the perfusion device can be implanted percutaneously into a patient's descending aorta to control bleeding at the site of a ruptured portion of the aorta (known as torso hemorrhage) while still allowing for the antegrade flow of blood from a location upstream of the ruptured portion of the aorta to a location downstream of the ruptured portion of the aorta. The perfusion device can be left inside the patient as the patient is transported to a medical facility where the injury can be repaired. Following repair of the vessel, the perfusion device can be withdrawn from the patient.

Abstract: Locking device is disclosed for parcel boxes or lockers. The device comprises a user operable handle and a lock mechanism comprising a motor to rotate a pinion to move a rack attached to a handle-blocker and to a deadbolt. The handle-blocker controls transition of the user operable handle between open and closed positions due to movement of the rack, and simultaneously the deadbolt is configured to move between locking and unlocking positions. In the closed position, the handle-blocker and the handle-body have a linear connection with each other and in open position this connection is lost. The handle may be activated by tapping the handle-cover, or by using an RFID, NFC or by mobile technologies. A method to operate opening and closing a parcel box locked with the locking device allows one or more users to access the parcel box via software application paired with the device.

Abstract: Anti-sweeping hook with a display hook, a helical coil, and rotating handle. The display hook may be straight with a first end and second end opposite the first end. The helical coil is disposed about the display hook and extends lengthwise along the display hook. The helical coil has a first coil end proximate the first end of the display hook. Rotation of the helical coil in a first direction loads the retail merchandise onto the display hook. Rotation of the coil in a second direction opposite the first direction removes the retail merchandise. The rotating handle is configured to determine a number of retail items stored on the display hook, based on the number and direction of rotation of the rotating handle. The rotating handle includes an MCU and wireless communications module to process and wirelessly transmit inventory data indicating the number of retail items on the display hook.

Abstract: A system and associated methods for authenticating physical or digital objects are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a plurality of authentication devices is initiated, with each of the authentication devices associated with a one of the objects and containing a unique authentication sequence algorithm used to generate a sequence of device sequence values stored on each said authentication device. Upon a user desiring to authenticate a given object via a user application on a user device, the authentication device provides a data set to an authentication server. If the authentication server locates the authentication device in an authentication table, and subsequently processes the data set successfully, the authentication server obtains from the authentication table a server sequence value associated with the authentication device. If the device sequence value is later in the sequence than the server sequence value, the authentication server transmits a success message to the user application.

Abstract: Improved methods and systems are described that improve and enhance payment transaction technologies using node association in a wireless node network. In general, a master node related to a payment receiver may detect a signal from an ID node related to a payment provider as the ID node approaches the master node. The master node may then determine if the ID node desires to associate with the master node for a payment transaction based upon a first part of information within the detected signal, such as an identified item being purchased in the transaction. If desired, the master node and the ID node associate for the payment transaction, and the master node then submits payment transaction data to a server. Such payment transaction data is based upon a second part of information within the detected signal, such as an identified payment source for the transaction.
