    Abstract: A system includes a first computing device having a first non-transitory machine-readable storage medium, first communication circuitry, and at least one first processor in communication with the first non-transitory machine-readable storage medium and the first communication circuitry. The at least one first processor is configured to execute instructions stored in the first non-transitory machine-readable storage medium to cause the first communication circuitry to receive a first signal from a first transmission medium, calculate a first authentication value for an object based on data included in the first signal, and cause the first communication circuitry to transmit a second signal to the first transmission medium. The second signal identifies whether the object is authentic based, at least in part, on the first authentication value.

    Abstract: An adaptive inventory management system for use in a materials handling facility storing a plurality of items that are each associated with a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag. The management system including a global inventory database subsystem and a RFID interrogator subsystem comprising a plurality of RFID interrogators that are each configured to read the unique identifier of the RFID tag associated with each of the plurality of items that are within a defined boundary of at least one scan zone generated by the respective RFID interrogator and to communicate the unique identifier of the each scanned RFID tag identified within each scan zone of the respective RFID interrogator to the global inventory database subsystem. The management system being selectively configured to effect user desired levels of fidelity and/or resolution with respect to the generated unique identifier of the each scanned RFID tag within a defined space of the materials handling facility.

    Abstract: A system is provided for reuniting a lost animal with its owner. The system includes a plurality of implantable tags, and a browser-accessible website which registers users and associates each registered user with at least one of the plurality of implantable tags. The system further includes a software application, and a plurality of mobile devices, wherein each of the plurality of mobile devices is equipped with an operating system, a tangible memory with an instance of the software application installed therein, and a scanning device which is adapted to scan one of the plurality of implantable tags and retrieve identification information therefrom. The system also includes a cloud-based platform which accepts queries from instances of the software application installed on the plurality of mobile devices and returns responses thereto, wherein each of the queries contains identification information retrieved from one of the plurality of implantable tags, and wherein each of the responses contains contact information for a registered user associated with the implantable tag.

    Abstract: A system and associated methods for authenticating physical or digital objects are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a plurality of authentication devices is initiated, with each of the authentication devices associated with a one of the objects and containing a unique authentication sequence algorithm used to generate a sequence of device sequence values stored on each said authentication device. Upon a user desiring to authenticate a given object via a user application on a user device, the authentication device provides a data set to an authentication server. If the authentication server locates the authentication device in an authentication table, and subsequently processes the data set successfully, the authentication server obtains from the authentication table a server sequence value associated with the authentication device. If the device sequence value is later in the sequence than the server sequence value, the authentication server transmits a success message to the user application.
