Abstract: A display control system includes a first wireless device attached to a management target and storing first identification information for identifying the management target, a second wireless device installed at a predetermined position and storing second identification information, a reading apparatus, at least one processor, and at least one memory. The processor and memory are configured to estimate a located position of the management target based on reading results of the first identification information at a first reading time and the second identification information at a second reading time and cause a display apparatus to display an estimated area within which the management target is estimated to be located based on the located position. A magnitude of the estimated area is based on an amount of movement of the reading apparatus between the first reading time and the second reading time.

Abstract: A novel RFID communication device is proposed which allows the detection and electronic processing not only of the response signal backscattered at the fundamental frequency f0 of the reader, but also at least one response signal backscattered at a harmonic frequency, before feeding them to the conventional receive chain of an RFID reader. The joint use of the signal at the fundamental frequency of the reader and at least one signal at a harmonic frequency allows the reader's performance to be improved. The RFID reader can additionally be provided with novel functionalities by virtue of suitable software processing. It is applicable to the field of communications between a reader and passive transponders in UHF RFID and to the field of the Internet of Things.

Abstract: A method for authenticating the compatibility of a staple cartridge with a surgical instrument is disclosed. The method can comprise inserting a staple cartridge into a surgical instrument, receiving a first signal from a first RFID tag on a first component of the staple cartridge with an RFID reader system, receiving a second signal from a second RFID tag on a second component of the staple cartridge with the RFID reader system, comparing the first signal and the second signal to stored data for a compatible staple cartridge, and locking a staple firing system of the surgical instrument if the first signal and the second signal do not match the stored data for a compatible staple cartridge.
