Abstract:
A method and apparatus for remote control and/or monitoring of a multimedia system includes processing that begins when a hand held device transmits a remote control/monitoring request to a server. The processing continues once a communication path is established between the hand held device and the server by having the server determine remote control and monitoring privileges of the hand held device. If the hand held device has at least a minimum level of remote control and monitoring privileges, the processing continues as the server processes the remote control/monitoring request with respect to at least one client to produce operational monitoring data. The processing continues as the server provides the operational monitoring data to the hand held device via the communication path.
Abstract:
The invention refers to a data terminal activation and control device (16), a WAP server and a method for enabling a WAP radiotelephone terminal (20) to remotely activate and control a distant data terminal (14). The data terminal (14) is coupled to the activation and control device (16) by means of a data transmission network (26). The activation and control device (16) is coupled to the radiotelephone terminal (20) across a radiotelephone network (24). To permit to a user (18) of a WAP radiotelephone terminal (20) a convenient and powerful access to a data terminal (14) in order to activate and control the data terminal (14) it is suggested, to send a WAP message from the radiotelephone terminal (20) to the activation and control device (16) across the radiotelephone network (24); to convert the WAP message into a message that can be interpreted by the data terminal (14), and to send it to said data terminal (14); and to convert a message supplied by the data terminal (14) into a WAP message and to send it to the WAP radiotelephone terminal (20).
Abstract:
An electric home appliance control system using an Internet remote-controller to control the operation of an electric home appliance having an infrared receiver module and a control circuit, the Internet remote-controller including a network interface card connected to the Internet to receive a remote packet message sent by the user from the Internet, a CPU adapted to recognize the identification of the remote packet message received by the network interface card, an infrared transceiver module, and a network control circuit controlled by the CPU to produce a control signal and to let the control signal to be sent to the infrared receiver module of the electric home appliance by radio after receipt of the remote packet message from the Internet by the network interface card.
Abstract:
A system for digitization of work processes in a power plant having a gas turbine including at least one processor system having a controller. The processor receives power plant data and the controller preferably controls the gas turbine. At least one interface device is communicatively coupled to the processor system for communicating the data received from the processor system to at least one of a mobile computing system and a computer system carried by a mobile user. The controller is capable of receiving instructions from the mobile user to control the gas turbine. The system further includes a local area network (LAN) in communication with the at least one interface device. At least one antenna assembly having a transceiver system for transmitting and receiving signals from the at least one interface device is provided. A network server system is communicatively coupled to the at least one antenna assembly via a wireless communication network, the server computer including a database for storing application data accessible by the mobile user.
Abstract:
An arrangement and method for equipment remote control according to a predetermined user profile. Controllable equipment is provided with a first wireless communication device and a user identity badge is provided with a second wireless communication device for communication, when in-range, with said first wireless communication device. A mobile communication terminal in communication with an Internet Protocol (IP) network, and provided with a third wireless communication device, communicates, when in-range, with said second wireless communication device. User and equipment identities are communicated to a user profile server connected to said IP network, and a user profile is returned to the equipment which is configured accordingly.
Abstract:
A telecommunications system and method is disclosed for instructing a device interfaced with a vehicle's electrical system to activate or deactivate specific electrical devices, using the cellular network. This can be accomplished utilizing a mobile terminal or a unit containing the equivalency of a mobile terminal receiver, hereinafter referred to as a "Radio Interface Unit" (RIU), which is interconnected to a "Power Interface Unit" (PIU). The PIU directly interconnects to the vehicle's electrical system and ignition. The subscriber can then access their vehicle's electrical system from anywhere world-wide which reaches the mobile terminal by dialing their cellular phone number or a number associated with the RIU from another wireless or wireline phone. The RIU would then "answer" the call and receive instructions from the subscriber to activate or deactivate electrical devices on the vehicle.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a smart switch panel and a smart remote control switch system. The smart switch panel includes a housing, an actuating device arranged in the housing and a microprocessor arranged in the housing to control the actuating device, and the actuating device includes a rotating rod and a driving member, the rotating rod cooperates with the driving member and pushes the driving member to move in a direction parallel to the rotating rod when the rotating rod rotates, so as to drive the switch to switch when the smart switch panel is mounted on the switch.
Abstract:
Embodiments are directed to controlling an electronically-controlled appliance using a software application and providing a user interface for controlling an electronically-controlled appliance. In one scenario, a computer system receives an indication from a remote computing system indicating that an electronically-controlled appliance is communicably connected to the remote computing system. The computer system provides a notification in the software application indicating that the electronically-controlled appliance is available to receive instructions, and receives a user input at the software application indicating that certain functions are to be performed by the electronically-controlled appliance. The computer system further generates instructions configured to control the electronically-controlled appliance based on the functions specified in the received user input, and sends the generated instructions to the electronically-controlled appliance to perform the specified functions. These functions are then interpreted and carried out on the electronically-controlled appliance via the hardware controller.

Abstract:
An apparatus, system and method is described for controlling one or more consumer electronic devices that is performed by a smart device. The smart device causes one or more graphical elements, each for performing a particular operation to be displayed. The smart device then causes an action to be performed when the user selects one of the graphical elements, for example by pressing one of the keys on the universal controlling device or by speaking a command.
