A digital camera, comprising an image sensor and an optical system for capturing an image of a scene and a wireless communication system. User interface elements are provided enabling a user to select a sharing destination for a captured digital image. A plurality of network pathways are identified for communication with the sharing destination using the wireless communication system. A priority is determined for each of the network pathways and the digital image is transmitted to the sharing destination using the highest priority network pathway.

A mobile printing system includes a cloud server apparatus, a mobile terminal device, a device management server apparatus, a print-control device, and an image forming apparatus. The cloud server apparatus stores a document data file. The mobile terminal device includes a wireless communication interface, and a short-range communication interface of which the maximum communicable distance is shorter than that of the wireless communication interface, and transmits the document data file with its device ID to the cloud server apparatus. The device management server apparatus receives the document data file in association with the device ID, and converts the document data file to print data and stores it. The print-control device detects the mobile terminal device using a short-range communication interface, and receives its device ID, and receives the print data from the document management server apparatus, and transmits the print data to the image forming apparatus for printing.

The system and method includes generating, by a printer driver comprised in the user device, a user interface comprising features supported by a plurality of printing devices. Further, it includes receiving via the user device over the network, a print instruction comprising the features supported by the plurality of printing devices connected to the computer system over the network. And based on the print instruction, generating a print job in an embodiment. Further, based on the user authentication at one of the plurality of printing devices, converting via a gateway, the received print instruction into a format compatible with that printing device and releasing the generated print job for printing at that printing device, according to an embodiment.

A mobile terminal improved in operability concerning fax transmission. A CPU of the mobile terminal sets information indicative of a fax transmission destination, sets reading and transmission information concerning fax transmission and original reading, and sends a request for fax transmission, to an image forming apparatus. When a response notifying capability of fax transmission is received from the apparatus, the CPU causes a message for prompting a user to set an original, to be displayed on a display section. When the original has been set and an instruction for fax transmission from the user is received, the CPU sends an instruction for reading the original and executing fax transmission, together with the transmission destination information, and the reading and transmission information, to the apparatus. The CPU causes a result of fax transmission by the apparatus to be displayed on the display section.
