Abstract:
Provided is a support structure for a load measurement sensor having sufficient durability without adding a large load to a portion transmitting a load to the load measurement sensor. In the support structure, including a sensor body detecting a load generated from a seat having a seat frame and an extension shaft portion extending from the sensor body, to attachment brackets in a state where the extension shaft portion follows the horizontal direction, the support structure includes a load input portion which comes into contact with the sensor body and inputs a load to the sensor body. The sensor body includes a load receiving surface which comes into contact with the load input portion and receives the load, and the load input portion is formed to be movable in the axial direction of the extension shaft portion with respect to the load receiving surface.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a force-measuring transducer which measures forces applied to or generated by a surface of a resiliently deformable structure. Forces applied to or generated by a surface of a structure may be surface forces generated by molecules at the surface of the structure, mechanical forces/pressure generated by placing the structure between objects, forces generated by materials which constitute the structure and which have different coefficients of thermal expansion, attractive/repulsive forces among atoms, or forces generated on a treated surface by ultraviolet (infrared) rays or the like. The transducer is characterized in that it measures forces applied to or generated by the surface of the structure using electrical signals generated in accordance with variations in electromagnetic fields.
Abstract:
A spring testing fixture and measuring assembly thereof are described. The spring testing fixture includes a measuring assembly, an upper cover and a lower cover. The measuring assembly further includes a contact plate, a containing space and a buckling unit. The contact plate of the measuring assembly is correspondingly adapted to the configuration (or profile) of the spring for effectively restricting the exerted force on the spring to precisely measure the practical reliability and the life span of the spring.
Abstract:
In a user-interactive system, such as an interactive voice response (IVR) system, the duration and/or force of key-presses by the user and/or the speed of response to prompts by the user are used to make inferences about the user, such as whether the user is impaired or is growing frustrated. The user interface is modified based on the inferences.
Abstract:
A sensing insert device (100) is disclosed for measuring a parameter of the muscular-skeletal system. The sensing insert device (100) can be temporary or permanent. Used intra-operatively, the sensing insert device (100) comprises an insert dock (202) and a sensing module (200). The sensing module (200) is a self-contained encapsulated measurement device having at least one contacting surface that couples to the muscular-skeletal system. The sensing module (200) comprises one or more sensing assemblages, electronic circuitry (307), an antenna (2302), and communication circuitry (320). The sensing assemblages are between a top plate (1502) and a bottom plate (1504) in a sensing platform (121). The sensing assemblages comprise a load disc (2004) and a piezo-resistive sensor (2002) to measure the parameter. An elastic support structure or springs (1108) is coupled between the top plate (1502) and the bottom plate (1504) to prevent cantilevering of a surface.
Abstract:
A push force simulator for measuring a force applied to a first component being attached to a second component with a pressure-sensitive adhesive located therebetween. The push force simulator can include a handheld block having a top surface and a bottom surface, and a palm-simulating polymer layer attached to the bottom surface. In addition, a pushable force gauge having an engagement end engaged with the top surface of the handheld block can be included. The pushable force gauge can measure an amount of force applied thereto, and thus measure the force transmitted through the block, through the palm-simulating polymer layer and applied to the pressure sensitive adhesive.
Abstract:
A load cell structure for receiving strain gages to monitor applied torsional forces wherein the opposing force-receiving ends have a plurality of sensing beams spaced about an axis of rotation. Limit posts located between the ends each have a discontinuity therein that includes a U-shaped gap to limit relative rotation about the axis and thereby providing overload protection.
Abstract:
An apparatus for measuring stalk strength of a plant is disclosed. A force sensor is mounted to a harvester in a position to measure the resistance to crushing of the plant stalk by a stalk roll of the harvester. The apparatus may include a pair of counter rotating stalk rolls that pull and crush the plant stalk between them and a pair of stain gauges attached on either side of a mounting apparatus of the stalk rolls to sense both the tension and compression forces induced in the mounting apparatus by each of the rolls in response to the resistance to crushing of the plant stalk. Data collected by the invention can be advantageously used in a breeding program wherein breeding decisions are made based at least in part on stalk strength.
Abstract:
A detection unit includes a sensor that detects the presence of force and a force component separation mechanism that separates the magnitude and the direction of the force and a control unit that controls the detection action of the force component separation mechanism based on the detection result of the sensor.
Abstract:
A high-accuracy load measuring apparatus capable of enlarging a measurement range includes a loading section provided at one end of a long and narrow beam. A support supports the beam at a side closer to the other end of the beam than the loading section. A displacement sensor includes a capacitive sensor and is provided to measure a displacement of the loading section. The beam includes a pair of long and narrow plate-like legs arranged in parallel while being spaced apart in a thickness direction and a connecting portion connecting ends of the plate-like legs at a side of the loading section. The beam is supported on the support to have a changeable length between a supported position by the support and the loading section. Each plate-like leg includes a slot, which is a long and narrow hole formed along a length direction in a widthwise central part.
