    Abstract: An insertion device includes an elongate member and a stylet. The elongate member has a proximal end portion, a distal end portion, and defines a lumen therethrough. The stylet has a distal end portion, a proximal end portion, and is slidably coupled to the elongate member. The stylet is configured to move from a first position to a second position with respect to the elongate member. The distal end portion of the stylet is configured to removably couple a mesh carrier thereto. A portion of the distal end portion of the stylet is disposed outside of the lumen of the elongate member when the stylet is in its first position and is disposed within the lumen when the stylet is in its second position.

    Abstract: A radiofrequency perforation device is disclosed. The device includes an elongate member defining a lumen and extending from a proximal portion including a hub to a distal portion including a distal tip electrode having a distal face defining a distal opening and a slot. The device also includes an outer insulation layer covering a portion of an outer surface of the elongate member and leaving the distal tip electrode uncovered. Finally, the device includes an inner insulation layer covering at least the distal portion of the lumen.

    Abstract: A perforation device for transseptal access system is disclosed. The perforation device includes an electrically conductive core comprising a proximal portion having a proximal portion length, and a distal portion having a distal portion length. The proximal portion is formed from a first material having a first modulus of elasticity, and the distal portion is formed from a second material having a second modulus of elasticity that is lower than the first modulus of elasticity. The perforation device further includes an exposed electrically conductive functional tip at a distal end of the core. Finally, the perforation device also includes an insulation layer over a portion of the core.

    Abstract: Catheter systems, tools and methods are disclosed for the selective and rapid application of DC voltage pulses to drive irreversible electroporation for minimally invasive transurethral prostate ablation. In one embodiment, a switch unit is used to modulate and apply voltage pulses from a cardiac defibrillator, while in another, the system controller can be configured to apply voltages to an independently selected multiplicity or subsets of electrodes. Devices are disclosed for more effective DC voltage application including the infusion of cooled fluid to elevate the irreversible electroporation threshold of urethral wall tissue and to selectively ablate regions of prostate tissue alone.

    Abstract: A medical device may include an insertion portion longitudinally extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The insertion portion may define a channel extending therethrough. The medical device may further include a handle coupled to the proximal end of the insertion portion. The handle may further include an irrigation port in fluid communication with the channel and coupled to a source of irrigation fluid. Additionally, the handle may include an actuator and a pressurizer. Manipulation of the actuator may be configured to actuate the pressurizer to urge irrigation fluid distally through the channel.

    Abstract: An inflatable penile prosthesis may include a fluid reservoir configured to hold fluid, an inflatable member, and a pump assembly configured to transfer fluid between the fluid reservoir and the inflatable member. The pump assembly may include a pump bulb, a valve block, a plurality of valves disposed within the valve block, a first fluid port in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir, and a second fluid port in fluid communication with the inflatable member. The plurality of valves includes a control valve configured to move between an inflation position and a deflation position to control the flow of fluid within the valve block and the transfer of fluid between the fluid reservoir and the inflatable member.

    Abstract: A medical device may include an inflatable balloon secured to a distal region of a catheter shaft. A blade assembly may extend over and be secured to the inflatable balloon. The blade assembly may include a plurality of blades and at least two rings that are adapted to secure each of the plurality of blades. Each of the rings include an inner surface adapted to be secured to the inflatable balloon and an outer surface. A number of living hinges are formed within the inner surface and the outer surface that cooperate to allow the blade assembly to move between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration.
