    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating reference signals with high interference immunity. A signal source may generate reference signals having a particular reference frequency based on characteristics of the source of the reference signals, for use in driving at least one component in a system. One or more processing may then process the generated reference signals, based on particular frequency positions relative to the particular reference frequency and other operations and/or components of the system. The processing may include filtering at the particular frequency positions. The particular frequency positions may correspond to the harmonics positions of the particular reference frequency. The signal source may be a crystal oscillator.

    Abstract: In a first configuration, circuitry of a fiber node may be configured to modulate an optical carrier by an analog upstream electrical signal received via the electrical network. In a second configuration, the circuitry may be configured to digitize the analog upstream electrical signal to generate a digitized upstream signal, and modulate the optical carrier with the digitized upstream signal. An optical receiver of the fiber node may be configured to convert a downstream optical signal to a downstream electrical signal. In the first configuration, the downstream electrical signal may be a first analog signal and the circuitry may be configured to output the first analog signal into the electrical network. In a third configuration, the downstream electrical signal is a digitized waveform and the circuitry is configured to convert the digitized waveform to a second analog signal and output the second analog signal into the electrical network.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for map generation for location and navigation with user sharing/social networking may comprise determining a position of a wireless communication device (WCD) and capturing images of the surroundings of the WCD. Data associated with objects in the surroundings of said wireless communication device may be extracted from the captured images, positions of the objects may be determined, and the determined positions and the data may then be uploaded to a database. The position of the WCD may be determined utilizing global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals. The elements may comprise structural and/or textual features in the surroundings of the WCD. The position of the WCD may be determined utilizing sensors in the WCD to measure a distance from a last determined or known position. The sensors may comprise a pedometer, an altimeter, a camera, and/or a compass. The positions of the extracted elements may be determined utilizing known optical characteristics of a camera in the WCD.

    Abstract: A wideband receiver system comprises a wideband analog-to-digital converter (ADC) module and a digital frontend (DFE) module. The wideband ADC is configured to concurrently digitize a band of frequencies comprising a plurality of desired channels and a plurality of undesired channels. The DFE module is coupled to the digital in-phase and quadrature signals. The DFE module is configured to select the plurality of desired channels from the digitized band of frequencies, and generate an intermediate frequency (IF) signal comprising the selected plurality of desired channels and having a bandwidth that is less than a bandwidth of the band of frequencies, where the generation comprises frequency shifting of the selected plurality of desired channels. The IF signal may be a digital signal and the DFE is configured to output the IF signal via a serial or parallel interface.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for memory power and/or area reduction. An array of memory cells may be scanned to detect faulty memory cells, if any, in the array. A supply voltage Vmem applied to the array of memory cells may be controlled based on a result of the scan, and based on a sensitivity coefficient of one, or more, of the array of memory cells. The sensitivity coefficient may indicate an impact that the one, or more, of the array of memory cells being faulty may have on the performance of a device that reads and writes data to the memory array. Additionally or alternatively, the physical dimensions of the memory cells may be determined based on the sensitivity coefficient(s) and/or based on a number of faulty memory cells that can be tolerated in the array of memory cells.

    Abstract: A terrestrial receiver at a premises includes a plurality of antennas and a corresponding plurality of tuners. The terrestrial receiver receives terrestrial television signals via the plurality of antennas and the plurality of tuners and diversity combines a corresponding plurality of terrestrial television channels within the received terrestrial television signals, for example, based on control signals received from one or more customer premises equipment (CPE). The terrestrial receiver processes the diversity combined corresponding plurality of terrestrial television channels and communicates the processed and diversity combined corresponding plurality of terrestrial television channels to the one or more CPE. The diversity combined corresponding plurality of terrestrial television channels may be remodulated, and converted to corresponding analog signals prior to being communicated to the one or more CPE.     Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for high-speed, low-power optical communications are provided. In one embodiment, a system for optical communications comprises a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a driver, and a transmit optical subsystem. The DAC is operable to receive a digital code of a plurality of digital codes and output an analog current signal having an analog current level of a plurality of analog current levels. The driver is operable to condition the analog current signal output from the digital-to-analog converter. The transmit optical subsystem is operable to generate an optical power signal from the conditioned analog current signal. A mapping between the plurality of digital codes and the plurality of analog current levels is dynamically controlled according to one or more characteristics of the optical power signal. The one or more characteristics comprise or a symbol amplitude sensitivity and/or a nonlinearity that may be temperature dependent.
