Abstract:
A display device and a control method thereof are discussed. A display device and a control method thereof according to an embodiment of the present invention comprise a display unit displaying an object; a receiver receiving a wireless signal from a three dimensional (3D) pointing device recognizing a three dimensional motion; and a controller calculating a trajectory of the 3D pointing device corresponding to at least one of an absolute coordinate area and a relative coordinate area based on the received wireless signal and determining a position of the displayed object according to a property of an area to which the trajectory belongs and displaying the determined position.
Abstract:
A method of informing a user of an identity of an input of a remote control device is presented. In the method, user activation of one of the inputs of the remote control device is detected. An audible signal associated with the activated input is determined. Each of the inputs of the remote control device is associated with a unique one of a plurality of audible signals. The audible signal associated with the activated input is produced to inform the user of the identity of that input.
Abstract:
A remote control device and a recognition method thereof. The recognition method is adapted to the remote control device for generating a corresponding remote control signal to control an electronic device when the remote control device is moved. A sequence of sensing signal corresponding to movement of the remote control device is provided. The sequence of sensing signal is converted into a sequence of characteristic data. A sequential predetermined data matching the sequence of characteristic data is selected from a plurality of sequential predetermined data respectively corresponding to a respective remote control signal. The remote control signal corresponding to the matched sequential predetermined data is transmitted to the electronic device.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus, control method thereof, remote control apparatus that controls the electronic apparatus, and control method thereof. The remote control apparatus includes a communication unit which communicates with the electronic apparatus; a user input unit which receives a user button selection indicating an input button; a sensing unit which senses movement of the remote control apparatus; and a control unit which controls the communication unit to transmit information about the user button selection to perform a function corresponding to the input button if the remote control apparatus is in a button input mode, and to transmit information about the movement of the remote control apparatus to the electronic apparatus to control the electronic apparatus by the movement if the remote control apparatus is in a motion recognition mode. Accordingly, controlling a game or a multimedia content is easier, and the user is provided with a new and interesting experience.
Abstract:
An image display device and an operation method thereof are provided that include receiving signals corresponding to spatial coordinates of the pointing device, recognizing at least one character based on the received signals, and displaying a channel list including at least one of a channel number or characters based on the at least one recognized character.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a remote controller for controlling playback of multimedia files. The remote controller includes a controller body and a receiver. By changing the inclination statuses of the controller body and pressing down the button on the external surface of the controller body, the user can remotely control playback of the multimedia files. The multimedia file playback remote controller of the present invention is small in size and thus convenient for storage.
Abstract:
An electrical switch apparatus including a movement sensitive form is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing, a motion sensor and a processing unit, where motion on, near or about the motion sensor is translated into output commands adapted for list scrolling, where the list can be arranged in a hierarchy such as menus or for changing a value of an attribute of a electrical device under the control of the switch.
Abstract:
A G-sensor (gravity sensor) remote controller is characterized in that at least a G-sensor and a microprocessor are provided within the main body of the remote controller. Each G-sensor provided in the main body of the remote controller is used for sensing the tapping action of a user to produce sensing signals and different sensing signals can be produced according to the area on the main body the user taps or the tapping frequency within a period of time. The microprocessor provided in the main body of the remote controller is electrically connected with the G-sensor and for processing the sensing signals from the G-sensor to control the function setting of the remote controller itself or other electric apparatuses.
Abstract:
The claimed invention relates to an interactive system for recognizing a single or a series of hand motion of the user to control or create applications used in multimedia. In particular, the system includes a motion sensor detection unit (MSDU) 100 and a motion sensor interface (MSI) 110. More specifically, the motion sensor detection unit (MSDU) 100 additionally includes one or more controllers 102; the motion interface (MSI) 110 additionally includes a MEMS signal processor (MSP) 120, a motion interpreter and translator (MIT) 140, an Embedded UI Toolkits 150 and applications subunit 160. The claimed invention also relates to a motion database 130 which stores the motion event pre-defined by the user or manufacturer. The motion database 130 also allows the user to define the motion database according to the user's preference.
Abstract:
A remote control unit is disclosed having multiple active surfaces. In general, the side facing upward (with respect to the direction of gravity) will be active and illuminated, and the side facing downward will be inactive and blank. The present system further includes one or more orientation/motion sensors for sensing rotation about three axes and translation along three axes. The sensor detects initial movement of the remote control unit after a dormant period, and senses which side is facing upward relative to gravity so as to allow activation of the upper side. The sensor also detects when the RC unit is turned over or otherwise tilted in any plane relative to horizontal more than a threshold angle. Once turned over or tilted beyond the threshold angle, the previously active side is deactivated and the opposite side is activated.
