    Abstract: Remote control devices may control electrical loads and/or load control devices of a load control system without accessing electrical wiring. The remote control device may be mounted over a mechanical switch that is installed in a wallbox. The remote control device may include a control unit and a faceplate assembly. The faceplate assembly may include a mounting frame, an adapter plate, and a faceplate. The mounting frame may be configured to abut a bezel of the mechanical switch such that that the faceplate is spaced away from the bezel of the mechanical switch to enable the mounting ring to extend through respective openings in the adapter plate and the faceplate.

    Abstract: A receiving device may assign a remote-control device of the receiving device to a special mode by storing an association of an identifier unique to the remote-control device with the particular special mode. The receiving device may receive a command from the remote-control device and determine that there has been a special mode assigned to the remote-control device based on the stored association of the identifier unique to the remote-control device with the particular special mode. The receiving device will then interpret the command received from the remote-control device according to how commands are to be processed in the special mode. The receiving device having the remote-control device assigned to the special mode may cause the receiving device to execute a different command or process than it would have normally performed when receiving such a command from a remote-control device that is not assigned to the special mode.

    Abstract: A keyless entry system includes a first communication apparatus and a second communication apparatus. The first communication apparatus includes first transmitter, first receiver, and first two-way communication device. The second communication apparatus includes second receiver, second transmitter, and second two-way communication device. The first communication apparatus or the second communication apparatus includes electric field strength detector. In a case where the first communication apparatus and the second communication apparatus are not connected to each other through two-way communication or electric field strength detected by the electric field strength detector is less than a predetermined value, the first communication apparatus stops a call function of the first transmitter or the second communication apparatus stops a wait function of the second receiver.
