Abstract:
The communication unit of an information processing apparatus can perform a wireless communication with a terminal apparatus. A state identifier indicating the state of the information processing apparatus is obtained, and a device identifier for identifying the information processing apparatus and the state identifier are transmitted to the terminal apparatus through the communication unit. The terminal apparatus holds additional information corresponding to a state of an information processing apparatus which can be identified by the device identifier, and can display the additional information.
Abstract:
In an image forming system, a first communication unit in an first image forming apparatus is controlled to transmit first data to a fifth communication unit in a portable terminal. The fifth communication unit is controlled to transmit second data to a third communication unit in a second image forming apparatus. Each of the first and second data includes image data specifying information and communication setting information. A fourth communication unit in the second image forming apparatus is controlled to establish second type communication between the second communication unit and a fourth communication unit in the second image forming apparatus based on the communication setting information. The fourth communication unit is controlled to transmit, to the second communication unit, request for transmission of image data specified by the image data specifying information. The second communication unit is controlled to transmit the image data to the fourth communication unit.
Abstract:
An information processing system includes an operation terminal and an input/output device connected to each other. The operation terminal includes a notification unit configured to send a notification based on information from the input/output device indicating that communication is possible with the input/output device. The input/output device includes an imaging unit, a detection unit for detecting the operation terminal capable of communicating with the input/output device, a transmission unit for to transmitting the information indicating that communication is possible with the input/output device, to the detected operation terminal, a determination unit for determining whether the imaging unit has taken an image of a predetermined action after the information has been sent, and an authentication unit for acquiring terminal information from the detected operation terminal, and performing authentication based on the terminal information, when the image of the predetermined action is determined to have been taken by the determination unit.
Abstract:
One or more embodiments may provide an apparatus, a computer readable medium, a non-transitory computer readable medium, and a method for operating in a non-sharing capture mode, receiving an indication associated with joining a capture share group, the capture share group comprising at least one other apparatus, transitioning from the non-sharing capture mode to a sharing capture mode associated with the capture share group, based, at least in part, on the indication, causing capturing of a captured image, and sending a representational image indicative of the captured image to the at least one other apparatus.
Abstract:
An electronic camera and method of operating an electronic camera which detects whether an external device such as a personal computer is properly connected to the camera and in a state which permits communication. The camera monitors a data terminal ready (DTR) signal of an RS-232 connection in order to determine that the external device is properly connected and in a state which permits communication. Once the proper connection is detected, the camera can either transmit or receive images and/or audio from the external device. Accordingly, a specific switch which places the camera in a communication mode can be eliminated. Further, a single switch may be utilized for both controlling whether the camera records or plays images when there is no device connected, and which controls whether the camera transmits or receives images and/or audio when an external device is determined to be connected.
Abstract:
Photos are shared among devices that are in close proximity to one another and for which there is a connection among the devices. The photos can be shared automatically, or alternatively based on various user inputs. Various different controls can also be placed on sharing photos to restrict the other devices with which photos can be shared, the manner in which photos can be shared, and/or how the photos are shared.
Abstract:
A multifunction peripheral (100) is connected to a terminal device (200) via a communication link, receives image data transmitted from the terminal device (200) and forms an image based on the image data. Further, the multifunction peripheral (100) detects the state of connection of the communication link and thereby detects whether or not communication with the terminal device (200) is interrupted. If interruption of communication is detected while image data transmitted from the terminal device is being received, the multifunction peripheral suspends the unfinished state of reception of image data.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus includes a processor to perform determining whether a current state of the communication apparatus is a master station state or a slave station state; controlling to perform, in a first case where it is determined that the current state of the communication apparatus is the master station state, a first type communication with the target apparatus to enable the target apparatus to participate in the specific wireless network, and controlling to transmit, in a second case where it is determined that the current state of the communication apparatus is the slave station state, transmits a communication request to perform a second type communication to enable the target apparatus to participate in the specific wireless network between the master station apparatus and the target apparatus.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a message is received at a network-connectable printer, from a first computer system via a first communication protocol. In response to receipt of the message, a connection between the printer and the network is established via a second communication protocol. A print job is received at the printer via the connection. The print job is caused to print at the printer. The connection is terminated after the print job is printed.
Abstract:
In an image providing apparatus capable of performing close-proximity wireless communication, it is determined whether or not the image providing apparatus come to an active state by moving close to the image output apparatus (whether or not the apparatus has been remotely woken up) if a connection through close-proximity wireless communication is established. It is decided that the image output apparatus is the primary controller after the connection if the image providing apparatus has been remotely woken up, and the use of an appropriate protocol for the primary controller is decided on. On the other hand, if the image providing apparatus has not been remotely woken up, it is decided that the image providing apparatus is the primary controller after connection, and the use of a corresponding protocol is decided on.
