Abstract:
A packaged microphone has a lid structure with an inner surface having a concavity, and a microphone die secured within the concavity. The packaged microphone also has a substrate coupled with the lid structure to form a package having an interior volume containing the microphone die. The substrate is electrically connected with the microphone die. In addition, the packaged microphone also has aperture formed through the package, and a seal proximate to the microphone die. The seal acoustically seals the microphone and the aperture to form a front volume and a back volume within the interior volume. The aperture is in acoustic communication with the front volume.
Abstract:
A process for the manufacture of a speaker cover comprises loading the speaker cover into a plasma chamber, introducing a fluoro monomer into the plasma chamber, pulsing plasma for processing, removing any excess monomer gas from the plasma chamber, and removing the speaker cover from the plasma chamber.
Abstract:
An audio demonstration kit encourages understanding of audio concepts by enabling children to construct and study speaker performance. In a particular example, the audio demonstration kit includes a paper speaker and instructions. The paper speaker includes a backplate, a suspension, and a diaphragm cut from a single sheet of paper. The demonstration kit may feature an amplifier that is configurable to accommodate various hardware additions as a child is ready for more progressively challenging construction. For example, the amplifier of an example allows single and dual mode operation, as well as drives a rotary motor and is coordinated with a strobe light. The amplifier of an example is synchronized with the strobe light and a moveable platform to create the impression of that jiggling figures attached to the table are dancing. Interfaces with smart phone, recording, and other technologies further enhances and encourages the learning experience.

Abstract:
A loudspeaker system has a loudspeaker housing that comprises at least a first and a second housing chamber. The loudspeaker system has a bass loudspeaker that is mounted on a partition between the first housing chamber and the second housing chamber, wherein the back of the bass loudspeaker has the first housing chamber present and the front of the bass loudspeaker has the second housing chamber present. The partition contains at least one bass reflex opening. A phase correction element is arranged at the front of the bass loudspeaker in the second housing chamber. The bass reflex opening opens into the second housing chamber and is arranged in a region adjacent to the phase correction element.
Abstract:
A speaker assembly provides a system for reproducing low frequency sound and for directing the sound generated both toward and away from a listener, or in any direction desired, by use of an acoustic dipole. The speaker assembly beneficially provides a significantly improved low frequency sound quality, while reducing sound and vibration transmitted to an adjacent space via an airborne or structure-borne pathway. The speaker assembly also beneficially provides for a suitable use in a plurality of environments, including, without limitation, an outdoor environment, a residential setting, or a professional application.
Abstract:
A miniature, wearable, kitchen ordering apparatus having a wearable bracket, a control box coupled to the bracket, a circuit board in the control box, a display output port, wireless communications unit, data processing unit, voice analyzer unit, and an audio pickup module, all operably connected to the circuit board. The output terminal of the audio pickup module is operably connected to the voice analyzer unit input terminal, the output terminal from the voice analyzer unit connects to the data processing unit input terminal, the digital communications port on the data processing unit connects to the wireless communications unit, and the data processing unit display interface connects to the display output port, which in turn connects to a flexible display panel installed on the wearable bracket. There is a battery connected to the data processing unit.
Abstract:
A speaker grille is provided including a front portion capable of sound transmission and side portions extending from the front portion. Each side portion includes an edge and a projection that extends beyond the edge, where each side portion has a substantially similar capability for sound transmission as the front portion. In one embodiment, the speaker grille comprises a perforated metal material, a fabric cloth material attached to the perforated metal material on an interior surface of the grille, and a metal cloth material attached to the fabric cloth material such that the fabric cloth material is disposed between the metal cloth material and the perforated metal material.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a loudspeaker assembly and a method of assembling a loudspeaker assembly. In one or more embodiments, the invention comprises forming a front baffle comprising a first driver mounting portion, an intermediate portion, and an edge mounting portion. A first driver is installed in the first driver mounting portion proximate to a first driver aperture. A rear baffle is formed from a second material, which, in one or more embodiments, is less stiff than the first material from which the front baffle is formed. The rear baffle comprises a top portion, sidewalls, a recessed mounting portion, and an edge portion. The edge mounting portion of the front baffle is attached to the recessed mounting portion of the rear baffle such that an entirety of said front baffle is recessed within said rear baffle spaced apart from said open bottom portion.
Abstract:
A speaker system with an enclosure having a spiral pathway is presented. The speaker system includes an electro-acoustic transducer that generates sounds according to an audio input. The speaker system also includes an enclosure having an interior pathway defined by a wall that is curved substantially as a spiral. The speaker system is configured such that the sound generated by the electro-acoustic transducer travels along at least a portion of the curved pathway before leaving the enclosure.
