Abstract: A clutch arrangement for a hybrid vehicle powertrain, comprises: an input shaft (30) to be connected to a crankshaft (26) of an internal combustion engine (12); an output shaft (32) for connection to a transmission (20); a one-way clutch (50) for comprising an inner race (52) connected to rotate with the input shaft (30) and an outer race (54); a coupling hub (58) rotationally coupled with the output shaft (32); and a synchronizer ring (60) arranged between the coupling hub (58) and the one-way clutch (50), the synchronizer ring cooperating with the outer race of the one-way clutch. A coupling sleeve unit (62) is selectively and axially moveable across the coupling hub (58), synchronizer ring (60) and outer race (54) between three positions: a neutral position, a first position where the coupling sleeve unit couples in rotation said coupling hub, the synchronizer ring and the outer race; and a second position where the coupling sleeve unit couples in rotation the coupling hub, the synchronizer ring, the outer race and the inner race. Also presented is a powertrain comprising such clutch arrangement.

Abstract: A method of detecting a percentage of ethanol in fuel used by an engine is provided. The method includes obtaining the heater temperature at a first time t1 at which a slope of the heater temperature as a function of time reaches a predetermined threshold value indicative of fuel boiling; obtaining the heater temperature at a subsequent time t2 at which the slope of the heater temperature approaches a value of the slope prior to the time t1 and which is greater than the predetermined threshold value; and determining the percentage of ethanol in the fuel as a function of the first time t1 and a calculated temperature difference ΔT between the heater temperature at time t2 and the heater temperature at the first time t1. A fuel delivery system that detects a percentage of ethanol in fuel by the method, and a flexible fuel vehicle including the fuel delivery system, are also provided.

The end cap assembly includes first and second brush caps herein that are overmolded onto first and second shunt wires to ensure a fluid-tight seal around the shunt wires without requiring heat staking, sonic welding, or melt flowing the end cap to the shunt wires. The brush caps are cone-shaped and include a snap-fit feature that retains the brush caps in place when the endcap assembly is transported prior to being assembled to a fuel pump body.

Abstract: A fuel pump includes a pump housing with a pumping chamber an inlet valve bore. An inlet valve selectively provides and prevents fluid communication between an inlet of the fuel pump and the pumping chamber. The inlet valve includes an inner housing received within the inlet valve bore such that an outer periphery of the inner housing is sealed to an inner periphery of the inlet valve bore. An outer housing circumferentially surrounds the inner housing. An annular chamber is defined radially between the inner housing and the outer housing and axially between the outer housing and the pump housing. A sealing ring is located within the annular chamber such that the sealing ring is compressed axially against the pump housing and the outer housing.
