    Abstract: A display device including a pair of substrates having surfaces facing each other and electrodes formed on the surfaces, respectively, a display medium having a memory effect and formed between the pair of substrates, and a drive unit that applies a drive voltage to the display medium. The display medium includes charged particles encapsulated therein such that movement of the charged particles based on a voltage applied by the drive unit provides display, and the charged particles include first particles for displaying a first color with application of a first voltage, second particles for displaying a second color with application of a second voltage having a polarity different from a polarity of the first voltage, and third particles for displaying a third color with application of a third voltage which has the same polarity as the polarity of the first voltage and an absolute value smaller than an absolute value of the first voltage.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a display-device substrate having a transparent electrode; an array substrate having a pixel electrode, a source line, a gate line, and a conductive line; a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the display-device substrate and initially aligned vertically; and a controller that drives the liquid crystal layer by supplying an image signal to the source line and applying a liquid crystal driving voltage across the transparent electrode and the pixel electrode in synchronization with the image signal, the controller applying a voltage to the conductive line after the liquid crystal driving voltage is applied to the pixel electrode and while the liquid crystal driving voltage is not applied to the pixel electrode, thereby generating an electric field oriented in a direction intersecting the source line in a plan view between the conductive lines.

    Abstract: A method of producing a gas barrier laminate of the present disclosure includes a step of forming a coating film on a surface of a base film or a laminate including the base film, the coating film containing zinc ions, at least one of metal alkoxide and a hydrolysate thereof, and an aqueous polymer, and a step of drying the coating film to form a gas barrier layer on the surface of the base film or the laminate including the base film. A gas barrier laminate of the present disclosure includes a base film or a laminate including the base film, and a gas barrier layer provided on a surface of the base film or the laminate including the base film. In the gas barrier laminate, the gas barrier layer contains zinc dispersed in the gas barrier layer and an organic-inorganic composite.

    Abstract: There are provided a reflective mask and a reflective mask blank reducing reflection of out-of-band light and a manufacturing method therefor. A light shielding frame is formed on a mask region corresponding to a multiply exposed boundary region between a chip and a semiconductor substrate. The frame is provided with an antireflective layer causing surface reflection in antiphase to out-of-band light reflected from the surfaces of a rear-surface conductive film and the substrate to provide a reflective mask reducing reflection of out-of-band light. The antireflective layer of the present disclosure has an electrical conductivity of 1×104/mΩ or greater to minimize charging occurring in a pattern region in observing the region using an electron microscope.
