Abstract: A method for calibrating an isolator product includes receiving a calibration signal on a differential pair of nodes of a receiver signal path of a first integrated circuit die of the isolator product. The method includes generating a diagnostic signal having a level corresponding to an average amplitude of the calibration signal on the differential pair of nodes. The method includes configuring a programmable receiver signal path based on the diagnostic signal. Generating the diagnostic signal may include providing an analog signal based on a full-wave rectified version of the calibration signal on the differential pair of nodes. Generating the diagnostic signal may include converting the analog signal to a digital signal.

Abstract: A feedforward echo cancellation device includes: a first impedance circuit for responding to a transmission current to output a first current to a node; an echo cancellation current generating circuit for drawing an echo cancellation current from the node; a circuit module that is coupled to the echo cancellation current generating circuit and the node has a first impedance value adjusted based on a system convergence index of a communication device, where the first impedance value is used to determine a gain of a programmable gain amplifier in the communication device; and a second impedance circuit for responding to the transmission current to output a second current to the node, where a second impedance value of the second impedance circuit is adjusted based on the first impedance value of the circuit module accordingly. Specifically, the node is coupled to an input terminal of the programmable gain amplifier.

Abstract: Various embodiments of communication systems and methods in which the communication system is operative to find, record, and use sets of pre-distortion parameters in conjunction with a pre-distortion procedure, in which each said set of pre-distortion parameters is operative to specifically counter distortions produced in a power amplifier by a specific combination of level of input signal power and level of analog gain associated with a transmission path of the communication system. In some embodiments, there is a modulator, a transmission chain, a distortion analysis mechanism, and a pre-distortion mechanism, operative to analyze and modify signals so as to counter signal distortion.
