    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry receives coded information of a current block in a current picture from a coded video bitstream. The coded information includes a syntax element associated with the current block, the syntax element indicates a decoding parameter of the current block. The processing circuitry determines a context-based adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) context model associated with the syntax element based on at least a temporally co-located block of the current block. The temporally co-located block is in a different picture from the current picture. Further, the processing circuitry decodes the syntax element based on the CABAC context model, and reconstructs the current block based on the syntax element that is decoded based on the CABAC context model.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to encoding and decoding of motion vector difference for inter-predicting a video block. An example is disclosed for decoding an inter-predicted video block of a video stream. The method may include determining that a motion vector associated with the inter-predicted video block is encoded as a motion vector difference (MVD) between the motion vector and a reference motion vector; obtaining, from the video stream, an indication of a magnitude range of the MVD among a plurality of predefined magnitude ranges for motion vector differences; determining a pixel resolution for the MVD according to the magnitude range; identifying additional MVD information in the video stream based on the pixel resolution; extracting the additional MVD information from the video stream; and decoding the inter-predicted video block based on the pixel resolution, the additional MVD information, the reference motion vector, and a reference frame associated with the motion vector.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure include methods and an apparatus for video coding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that receives coded information of a current block in a current picture. The current block is predicted based on a reference block in the current picture indicated by a block vector (BV) to be determined based on a BV predictor (BVP) and a BV difference (BVD). The processing circuitry determines a BVD list including BVD candidates based at least on BVD offsets from the BVP, determines the BVD from the BVD candidates in the BVD list, and reconstructs the current block using the BVD. For each adjacent pair of the BVD offsets, an initial interval size indicates a difference between the adjacent pair of the BVD offsets. Each of the initial interval sizes is different from other initial interval sizes corresponding to other adjacent pairs of the BVD offsets.

    Abstract: A video bitstream comprising coding information of a current block in a current picture is received. The coding information indicates that the current block is coded by a flip mode in which locations of samples of the current block are adjusted within the current block. A reference block is determined from a plurality of candidate reference blocks in a reconstructed region of the current picture for the current block based on template matching (TM) costs. The TM costs indicate differences between a template of the current block and respective templates of the plurality of candidate reference blocks. A reconstruction block of the current block is determined based on the determined reference block. The current block is reconstructed by adjusting locations of samples of the reconstruction block within the reconstruction block based on the flip mode.
