Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry receives coded information of a current block in a current picture from a coded video bitstream. The coded information includes a syntax element associated with the current block, the syntax element indicates a decoding parameter of the current block. The processing circuitry determines a context-based adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) context model associated with the syntax element based on at least a temporally co-located block of the current block. The temporally co-located block is in a different picture from the current picture. Further, the processing circuitry decodes the syntax element based on the CABAC context model, and reconstructs the current block based on the syntax element that is decoded based on the CABAC context model.

Abstract: In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes receiving circuitry and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry receives, from a coded video bitstream, coded information associated with one or more blocks in a current picture, the coded information indicates that a cross-component sample offset (CCSO) filter is used for decoding the one or more blocks. The processing circuitry determines one or more features associated with the one or more blocks, the one or more features is used as a context for signaling a value associated with the CCSO filter. The processing circuitry determines at least a signaled value associated with the CCSO filter based on a context model, the context model using the one or more features as a context, and reconstructs samples in the one or more blocks based on at least the signaled value associated with the CCSO filter.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide method and apparatus for video coding. In some examples, an apparatus includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry decodes prediction information of a first block from a coded video bitstream. The first block is a non-square block and the prediction information for the first block is indicative of a first intra prediction mode in a first set of intra prediction modes for a square block. Then, the processing circuitry remaps the first intra prediction mode to a second intra prediction mode in a second set of intra prediction modes that is used for the non-square block. The second set of intra prediction modes includes at least the second intra prediction mode that is not in the first set of intra prediction modes. Further, the processing circuitry reconstructs at least one sample of the first block according to the second intra prediction mode.

In one aspect, a method of video decoding includes receiving video data that includes a first block from a video bitstream, where the first block is encoded in an inter-intra prediction mode. The method also includes generating a list of intra prediction modes for the first block and identifying an intra prediction mode from the list of intra prediction modes for an intra prediction for the first block. Abstract: This disclosure relates to encoding and decoding of motion vector difference for inter-predicting a video block. An example is disclosed for decoding an inter-predicted video block of a video stream. The method may include determining that a motion vector associated with the inter-predicted video block is encoded as a motion vector difference (MVD) between the motion vector and a reference motion vector; obtaining, from the video stream, an indication of a magnitude range of the MVD among a plurality of predefined magnitude ranges for motion vector differences; determining a pixel resolution for the MVD according to the magnitude range; identifying additional MVD information in the video stream based on the pixel resolution; extracting the additional MVD information from the video stream; and decoding the inter-predicted video block based on the pixel resolution, the additional MVD information, the reference motion vector, and a reference frame associated with the motion vector.

An example method for processing a current video block of a video stream is disclosed. The method includes receiving the video stream; determining from the video stream whether joint motion vector difference (MVD) coding is applied to the current video block; determining from the video stream whether adaptive MVD pixel resolution is applied to the current video block; and decoding the current video block based on whether joint MVD coding and whether adaptive MVD pixel resolution are applied to the current video block.

Abstract: A method for video coding includes obtaining a coding block of video data, determining whether a joint coding of motion vector difference (JMVD) is used for predicting the coding block, obtaining, based on determining that the JMVD is used for predicting the coding block, a list of scaling factors and the JMVD from the video bitstream, deriving a predicted scaling factor based on the list of scaling factors, deriving a motion vector difference (MVD) for a reference list based on at least the joint motion vector difference and the predicted scaling factor, and reconstructing the coding block based on the derived MVD.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure include methods and an apparatus for video coding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that receives coded information of a current block in a current picture. The current block is predicted based on a reference block in the current picture indicated by a block vector (BV) to be determined based on a BV predictor (BVP) and a BV difference (BVD). The processing circuitry determines a BVD list including BVD candidates based at least on BVD offsets from the BVP, determines the BVD from the BVD candidates in the BVD list, and reconstructs the current block using the BVD. For each adjacent pair of the BVD offsets, an initial interval size indicates a difference between the adjacent pair of the BVD offsets. Each of the initial interval sizes is different from other initial interval sizes corresponding to other adjacent pairs of the BVD offsets.

Abstract: A video bitstream comprising coding information of a current block in a current picture is received. The coding information indicates that the current block is coded by a flip mode in which locations of samples of the current block are adjusted within the current block. A reference block is determined from a plurality of candidate reference blocks in a reconstructed region of the current picture for the current block based on template matching (TM) costs. The TM costs indicate differences between a template of the current block and respective templates of the plurality of candidate reference blocks. A reconstruction block of the current block is determined based on the determined reference block. The current block is reconstructed by adjusting locations of samples of the reconstruction block within the reconstruction block based on the flip mode.
