    Abstract: A bitstream that includes attribute information of a plurality of UV vertices corresponding to a mesh is received. A seam vertex queue that includes one or more UV vertices of the plurality of UV vertices is generated. Each of the one or more UV vertices in the seam vertex queue belongs to a respective UV vertex group of a plurality of seam UV vertex groups. Each of the plurality of seam UV vertex groups corresponds to a same three-dimensional (3D) vertex of the mesh in a 3D space. An initial UV vertex of the mesh is determined based on whether one of the one or more UV vertices in the seam vertex queue includes an unvisited UV vertex. UV coordinates of the mesh are reconstructed based on the initial UV vertex.

    Abstract: A video bitstream including coded information of a current block in a current picture is received. The current block is divided into a plurality of subblocks based on a region division shape of a plurality of region division shapes that is associated with an intra prediction mode of the current block. A weight set is determined for each of the plurality of subblocks, where the weight set includes a first weight for an intra prediction of the respective subblock and a second weight for an inter prediction of the respective subblock. Each of the plurality of subblocks is reconstructed based on the weight set, the intra prediction, and the inter prediction that are associated with the respective subblock.

    Abstract: A method includes receiving a current picture, a first reference picture, and a second reference picture. The method includes obtaining a plurality of predefined weighting patterns, each weighting pattern being signaled as an index value and selecting a weighting pattern based on a predetermined condition. The method includes deriving a first weight to be applied to a first sub-block in the first reference picture and a second weight to be applied to a second sub-block in the second reference picture based on the index value corresponding to the selected weighting pattern. The method includes assigning the first weight to the first sub-block and the second weight to the second sub-block based on the selected weighting pattern. The method includes decoding the current block by a weighted bi-prediction based at least on the first sub-block weighted by the first weight and the second sub-block weighted by the second weight.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure includes methods and apparatuses for video decoding and video encoding and a method of processing visual media data. A current block in a first coding tree unit (CTU) is predicted using samples in a current picture. The first CTU and a second CTU are processed in parallel. The method for video decoding includes determining one of (i) a reference block of the current block in an allowed search range that is constrained for parallel processing of the first CTU and the second CTU in the current picture and (ii) an intra prediction mode of the current block based on a template adjacent to the current block that is constrained for parallel processing of the first CTU and the second CTU, and reconstructing the current block using the one of (i) the reference block and (ii) the intra prediction mode.

    Abstract: The various implementations described herein include methods and systems for coding video. In one aspect, a video bitstream includes a current coding block of an image frame and signals a cross-component intra prediction mode and a hypothesis tap index. An computing system identifies a first luma sample and a first chroma sample co-located with the first luma sample in the current coding block, and selects one of a plurality of hypothesis tap combinations based on the hypothesis tap index. The computing system identifies neighboring luma samples of the first luma sample based on the selected hypothesis tap combinations, and generates hypothesis values based on the identified neighboring luma samples of the first luma sample. The computing system further generates the first chroma sample based on at least the first luma sample and the hypothesis values, and reconstructs the current coding block including the first chroma sample.
