Abstract:
An image acquiring device comprises a first camera 14 for acquiring video images, consisting of frame images continuous in time series, a second camera 15 being in a known relation with the first camera and used for acquiring two or more optical spectral images of an object to be measured, and an image pickup control device 21, and in the image acquiring device, the image pickup control device is configured to extract two or more feature points from one of the frame images, to sequentially specify the feature points in the frame images continuous in time series, to perform image matching between the frame images regarding the frame images corresponding to the two or more optical spectral images based on the feature points, and to synthesize the two or more optical spectral images according to the condition obtained by the image matching.
Abstract:
For retrieval of a hovering aircraft, a cable, bar, or similar fixture is suspended in an approximately horizontal orientation across the retrieval area between two well-separated supports. The aircraft slowly flies into this fixture, which then slides along the aircraft in a direction approximately parallel with the aircraft's thrust line. This leads to the aircraft becoming fastened to the fixture by an interceptor or aircraft capturer, which in alternative embodiments are respectively on the aircraft or the fixture or both. Thrust is then reduced, and the aircraft comes to rest hanging from the fixture for subsequent removal. Retrieval is thus accomplished with simple and economical apparatus, light and unobtrusive elements on the aircraft, low risk of damage, and only moderate piloting accuracy.

Abstract:
A mounting device for mounting electronic components of an unmanned helicopter. A solid base plate has a circumferential outer edge. A connecting module is fixedly attached to the circumferential outer edge. The connecting module is configured to reversibly connect a flexible cover to the base plate.
Abstract:
A main rotor arrangement for an UAV-helicopter. A rotor mast defines a vertical axis of rotation. A hub is for attachment of rotor blades. The hub is mounted to the rotor mast in a tiltable way so as to reduce loads acting on the rotor blades during operation of the UAV-helicopter. A damping assembly is configured to damp the tilting of the hub.
Abstract:
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has a payload or body affixed at one end of an elongated airfoil. The entire airfoil/payload combination rotates about a center of mass to define a rotor disk. Thrust is provided by air-augmented rocket engine thrusting tangentially at a location remote from the payload. A control system maintains knowledge of its environment, as by a camera, to produce directional control signals which actuate lift control means in synchronism with the rotational position of the vehicle. A deployable object may be carried. Protection of the stowed vehicle is provided by blister packaging.
Abstract:
Miniature robotic vehicles suitable for a variety of tasks including covert surveillance, reconnaissance, and recreation are provided. Embodiments of the invention may include vehicles having a hybrid transportation system that incorporates a rotary-wing flight mode in conjunction with a wheeled ground transport mode. As a result, exemplary vehicles provide efficient ground-mode travel, with the added ability to fly over large obstacles and rough terrain.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a rotary-wing aircraft (100), comprising at least four rotors (110), which are disposed on girder elements (120a, 120b), wherein said rotors (110) and girder elements (120a, 120b) are disposed such that a free field of vision (S) is defined along a longitudinal axis (L) of said rotary-wing aircraft (100) at least between two terminal rotors.
Abstract:
An apparatus for converting a manned aircraft for unmanned flight, the aircraft including at least one pilot control capable of manipulation to affect operation of the aircraft, the apparatus comprising a first actuator and a second actuator each configured to selectively provide movement or resistance to movement in a first manner including linear or rotational motion, a first clutch and a second clutch each configured to selectively couple movement of the associated actuator to the pilot control, and a vehicle controller capable of being selectively enabled to operate the pilot control actuators and clutches providing unmanned operation of the aircraft or disabled providing manned operation of the aircraft. The first actuator has a first scope describing a first amount of allowable movement, while the second actuator has a second scope larger than the first scope.
Abstract:
A radio controlled (RC) aircraft includes a receiver that is coupled to receive an RF signal from a remote control device, the RF signal containing command data in accordance with a first coordinate system, wherein the first coordinate system is from a perspective of the remote control device. A motion sensing module generates motion data based on the motion of the RC aircraft. A processing module transforms the command data into control data in accordance with a second coordinate system, wherein the second coordinate system is from a perspective of the RC aircraft. A plurality of control devices control the motion of the RC aircraft based on the control data. In an embodiment, a remote control device commands the RC helicopter to substantially a hovering state when no force is applied to each of a plurality of spring-loaded interface devices.
