Abstract: A work management device includes a reception strength acquisition unit and a warning output unit. The reception strength acquisition unit acquires a reception strength of a transportation target identification signal transmitted from a first signal transmission device attached to a transportation target when the transportation target identification signal is received by a reading device attached to a cargo-handling machine. The warning output unit outputs warning information associated with work of the transportation target on the basis of a result of a comparison between the reception strength and a predetermined first threshold value used in outputting a proximity warning.

Abstract: Briefly, an intelligent label is associated with a good, and includes one or more permanent and irreversible electrochromic indicators that are used to report the condition of that good at selected points in the movement or usage of that good. These electrochromic indicators provide immediate visual information regarding the status of the good without need to interrogate or communicate with the electronics or processor on the intelligent label. In this way, anyone in the shipping or use chain for the good, including the end user consumer, can quickly understand whether the product is meeting shipping and quality standards. If a product fails to meet shipping or quality standards, the particular point where the product failed can be quickly and easily identified, and information can be used to assure the consumer remains safe, while providing essential information for improving the shipping process. It will be understood that the label may take many forms, such as a tag attached to the good, integrated into the packaging for the good, integrated into the good itself, or may even be an information area on a prepaid card for example. The label may also include, for example, print information regarding the good, usage or shipping rules, or address and coded information.

The methods comprise: performing, by a tag reader, a standard inventory process to obtain a unique identification code for a first tag in a randomly selected timeslot; assigning, by the tag reader, a local short address to the first tag that is shorter than the unique identification code; wirelessly communicating the local short address from the tag reader to the first tag; performing, by the tag reader, an enhanced inventory process to receive a ping command response signal including the local short address from the first tag in an assigned timeslot; and determining a first position of the first tag in the given area based on the phase of the ping command response signal.
