Abstract: An audio apparatus and a control method therefor are provided. The present audio apparatus comprises: a vibration part for providing audio using vibration; a sensing part for sensing one or more of the material and the thickness of an object to which the audio apparatus is attached; a pressure regulation part for regulating the pressure that is applied to the object by the vibration part; and a processor for controlling the pressure regulation part in order to regulate the pressure applied to the object by the vibration part based on one or more of the material and the thickness of the object that is sensed by the sensing part.

The method also includes adjusting, with the electronic processor, operation of the portable device based on the operational mode.

Abstract: A system for vibrationally sensing audio includes a vibration output device. The vibration output device includes a haptic actuator; a haptic actuator driver coupled to the haptic actuator; an antenna configured to communicatively receive a haptic pattern from a base unit; and a processor coupled to the antenna and haptic actuator driver. In some embodiments, a haptic pattern includes at least one frequency range. When a total audio power in at least one frequency range reaches a threshold, the processor activates the haptic actuator driver to drive the haptic actuator to produce vibration on a body surface of a user, an inanimate object surface, or a water surface. In some embodiments, the system further includes the base unit. The base unit includes a base unit processor configured to receive an audio signal from an audio emitting device and process the audio signal into the haptic pattern.

Abstract: A sound responsive garment for synchronized output of sound, light and vibration includes a shell. A power module is coupled to the shell. A microprocessor is coupled to the shell and operationally coupled to the power module. A plurality of speakers, a plurality of lights and a plurality of vibrators are coupled to shell and operationally coupled to the microprocessor. An input is operationally coupled to the microprocessor. The input is configured to couple to an audio source such that an audio signal from the audio source is relayed to the microprocessor. The speakers are positioned to emit the audio signal. The lights and the vibrators are motivated by the microprocessor to emit light and vibrations, respectively, timed to the audio signal.
