    Abstract: Apparatus and method provided herein are directed to a linear differential directional microphone array (LDDMA), which takes into account the directionality of the array elements. The LDDMA may be designed by generating a steering vector for a linear array (LA) having preselected parameters including parameters δ, p, θ, N, and M, generating a constraint matrix based on the steering vector, reformulating the constraint matrix based on a microphone response matrix and a steering matrix, obtaining a beamformer by applying a minimum norm solution in terms of the constraint matrix, verifying a desired characteristic of the LA by calculating the beamformer for a desired direction, and constructing the LA based on the preselected parameters and the beamformer.

    Abstract: An integrated audio-visual system is disclosed for delivering an event to one or more spectators. The integrated audio-visual system includes one or more loudspeakers that are positioned behind one or more visual displays to be effectively behind the one or more visual displays to be shielded from the field of view of the one or more spectators. The one or more visual displays are specially designed and manufactured to allow sound associated with the event to propagate from the one or more loudspeakers with minimal acoustical distortion and/or minimum acoustical vibration while presenting a visual representation of the event to the one or more spectators. Moreover, the one or more loudspeakers and the one or more visual displays are situated to be a predetermined displacement from each other to further minimize acoustical distortion.

    Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a system for providing a multi-beam constant beamwidth transducer (CBT) array is provided. The system includes an array of transducers and at least one controller. The array of transducers generates a first sound beam in a listening environment. The at least one controller is programmed to determine a first time delay for each transducer to virtually curve the array of transducers to provide a first beamwidth for the first sound beam and to determine a second time delay for each transducer to virtually rotate the array to steer the first sound beam one of off-axis and on-axis. The at least one controller is programmed to sum the first time delay for each transducer and the second time delay for each transducer to steer the first sound beam with the first beamwidth at a first angle from the array of transducers into the listening environment.

    Abstract: One or more embodiments of the present disclosure relates to hearing aids. A hearing aid includes a plurality of microphones configured to receive an initial sound signal and convert the initial sound signal into an electrical signal; a processor configured to process the electrical signal and generate a control signal; and a speaker configured to convert the control signal into a hearing aid sound signal. To process the electrical signal and generate the control signal, the processor is configured to: adjust a directivity of the initial sound signal received by the plurality of microphones, so that a sound intensity of a first sound signal from a direction of the speaker in the initial sound signal is always greater than or always less than a sound intensity of a second sound signal from other directions around.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to loudspeaker devices and configurations. In one embodiment, a loudspeaker includes a housing structure having multiple faces. A first face and second face of the housing are between first and second ends to arrange speaker configurations. The housing structure is configured to rotate to direct at least one of the first speaker configuration and the second speaker configuration for output of audio. In one embodiment, the housing structure is an elongated triangular structure. Loudspeaker configurations can include one or more elements to rotate the housing structure to direct at least one of the first speaker configuration and the second speaker configuration for output of audio. Loudspeaker configurations may also include a controller to operate at least one of the first speaker configuration and the second speaker configuration for output of audio based on position of the housing structure.
