Abstract:
An air sanitization system including a housing having an inlet and an outlet, an ozone generator disposed in the housing and positioned between the inlet and outlet, at least one fiber optic cable positioned in visible proximity to the ozone generator, a visible light detector, and a controller. The housing is configured to receive a flow of an oxygen-containing gas through the inlet, and the ozone generator generates ozone from the flow of oxygen-containing gas. The at least one fiber optic cable is configured to receive and transmit visible light from the ozone generator. The visible light detector detects an amount of visible light transmitted by the at least one fiber optic cable. The controller is in communication with the visible light detector for determining whether the amount of visible light transmitted by the at least one fiber optic cable corresponds to a failure of the ozone generator.

Abstract:
An improved system and method for controlling ozone concentration in connection with a multi-chamber tool. The system and method involve a first and a second concentration controller in combination with an ozone generator. The first concentration controller detects an EVENT (i.e., one of the chambers in the multi-chamber tool coming on-line or off-line) and in response provides a power instruction to the ozone generator in accordance with a predictive control algorithm. The first concentration controller has a fast (i.e, about 1 second) response time. The second concentration controller is masked from the ozone generator during the EVENT, but otherwise controls the generator after an interval of time has lapsed after the EVENT. The second concentration controller has a slower response time than the first concentration controller, however the second concentration controller provides the system with long-term stability and can be used to provide updated data to the predictive control algorithm.
Abstract:
A compact, inexpensive, large-capacity ozone generator with increased ease of apparatus maintenance. An ozone power supply includes an n-phase inverter for obtaining an AC voltage having a predetermined frequency and outputting an n-phase AC voltage waveform; n reactors and an n-phase transformer for converting an n-phase AC voltage to a high AC voltage; n high-voltage terminals for outputting the n-phase high AC voltage; and a low-voltage terminal having a common potential. Ozone generator units are electrically divided into n pieces within a discharge chamber. Each ozone generator unit includes n high-voltage electrode terminals and one low-voltage electrode terminal, common to all ozone generator units. Each ozone generator unit supports an n-phase AC discharge to generate ozone.
Abstract:
A starting circuit for an electric discharge lamp providing an electric current to a lamp having a first and a second filament. The circuit measures a lamp current and a filament temperature and then compares these against a reference voltage. When the lamp current is below a set threshold value, a relay contact disposed between the first and second filament is closed to direct the electric current through the first and second filaments to initiate pre-heating of the lamp. Once the filament temperature exceeds a set threshold, the relay contact is opened and the electric current passes through heated gas inside the lamp.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for compensating for variations in line voltages the power an electro-kinetic air transporter and conditioner device. The electro-kinetic air transporter and conditioner device includes a high voltage generator that provides a potential difference between at least one emitter electrode and at least one collector electrode. The high voltage generator is driven by both a DC voltage obtained from an AC voltage source, and a low voltage pulse signal. The DC voltage is stepped down to produce a voltage sense signal indicative of a level of AC voltage source. The voltage sense signal is monitored. At least one of a pulse width, duty cycle and frequency of the low voltage pulse signal is adjusted, based on the monitored voltage sense signal, in order to substantially maintain the potential difference at a desired level.
Abstract:
The Diffusive Plasma is for effective treatment of contaminated air and material processing. Air is purified and disinfected by passing through the diffusive plasma device which includes a reactor or a plurality of reactors arranged in parallel or series and is energized by a high voltage alternating current power supply. The diffuser, being electrically isolated, provides extra nucleation sites to initiate discharges. It serves to improve the generation of uniform and consistent plasma and to reduce the variation of discharge properties among the reactors. The addition of a diffuser, thereby, enhances the overall effectiveness of decomposing chemicals and destroying microbes to achieve high air treatment and material processing performance. The diffuser can be made of suitable filtering materials to additionally serve as a filter. By incorporating suitable catalytic materials with the diffuser, the reactor becomes a catalytic plasma reactor wherein the plasma environment provides enhanced catalytic functions. Effective plasma power deposition may be obtained by controlling the amplitude, waveform period and shape of the voltage applied to the electrodes of the reactor and hence the operation of the reactors with plasma discharged of selected conditions for optimizing the treatment and processing efficiency while minimizing the generation of unwanted bi-product gases. The present invention also relates to a method for effective air treatment and material processing.
