Abstract: The invention provides a method and a system for the production of viruses or virus derived products. The system comprises a containment enclosure provided with a single entry means and a single exit means which are movable between a closed position and an open position. The containment enclosure comprises at least one production unit comprising at least one bioreactor for culturing the virus, said bioreactor is provided with at least one inlet and at least one outlet; at least one purification unit fluidly connected to the production unit and comprising at least one purification means having at least one inlet and at least one outlet. The system further comprises at least one inactivation and/or at least one gas decontamination unit. The containment enclosure comprises at least one process control device connected to the exit means. The movement of the exit means from the closed position to the open position is controllable by said process control device.

Abstract: Sample contamination is suppressed by strengthening the air barrier of a work opening portion. A safety cabinet includes: a work room; a front surface door covering a part of a front opening portion of the work room; and a work opening portion on a lower side of the front surface door allowing a worker to work with his or her hand in. An intake port suctions air in the work room and outside air through the work opening portion on a front surface side of a workbench in a lower portion of the work room. Abstract: The present invention involves a fill needle system for aseptically dispensing a pharmaceutical fluid in an aseptic chamber comprises a fill needle tubing in fluid communication with a pharmaceutical fluid source via flexible tubing and extending through a fill needle hub; a fill needle dispensing tip disposed at a dispensing end of the fill needle tubing; a fill needle sheath shaped and arranged to removably mate with and seal aseptically to the fill needle hub to form an aseptically sealed volume enclosing the dispensing tip; and a fluid pressure pulse induction system disposed and configured to compress the flexible tubing in order to dislodge droplets of pharmaceutical fluid retained on the dispensing tip after halting dispensing of the pharmaceutical fluid. An associated method of dispensing pharmaceutical fluid comprises operating the fluid pressure pulse induction system to dislodge the droplets. The system may comprise a controller for automatically controlling the dispensing and droplet dislodging.

Abstract: A work glove is installed at the port flange, with the result that the operator can enter the working chamber of the containment in a protected manner. A multiplicity of port flanges are usually mounted on the containment and a work glove is fastened in each case to the respective port flange. Machinery for processing material to be treated is often set up in the working chamber. In order to temporarily block the access, a shut-off part which can be moved into a blocking position and an open position is provided. In order to record personal data relating to the operator, the arrangement has a capture unit which has a connection to a microcontroller.

Abstract: A controlled environment enclosure comprises a robotic arm manipulation system used to protect and unprotect a fluid path and a swab within the controlled environment enclosure. The apparatus allows the fluid path to be protected against dangerous decontamination vapors and chemicals before the controlled environment enclosure is decontaminated. The apparatus allows the fluid path to be unprotected without the use of gloves or other means that degrade the integrity of the controlled environment enclosure when decontamination is completed. The apparatus and method allow for the protecting, unprotecting and decontaminating sequences to be automated. In some embodiments the fluid path comprises a fill needle that can removably and aseptically be sealed with a disposable monolithic injection moulded polymeric fill needle sheath. The apparatus and method further allow for the use of a swab disposed in a swab holder that is aseptically and removably sealable to a swab cap to protect the swab against decontamination vapors.

The containment enclosure (20) is collapsible inside the transporting case in the closed position (F). The invention also relates to a removable, flexible enclosure for such a device.

Abstract: The present invention accurately manages the number of fine particles in a workspace and prevents fine particles from mixing with an experimental material. An isolation device for supplying a workspace with clean air resulting from dust filtration by an air cleaning means, said isolation device being provided with: a measurement probe that is for air intake and is disposed in the workspace; a particle counter for measuring the fine-particle counts for a plurality of particle sizes in the workspace air taken in by the measurement probe and outputting the measurements; a storage unit for storing, for each of the plurality of particle sizes and for work times and non-work times, management fine-particle counts at which the number of fine particles per unit volume is determined to be large; a cleanliness determination unit for determining cleanliness by comparing the fine particle counts for the plurality of particle sizes measured by the particle counter and the management fine-particle counts for the plurality of particle sizes stored by the storage unit; and an output unit for outputting an alarm if the cleanliness determination unit determines that the work-time/non-work time fine particle count for a particle size in the workspace during operation exceeds the corresponding management fine-particle count.

Abstract: An apparatus for generating purified liquid from an input liquid, comprises, an evaporation chamber flooded with the input liquid and wherein the evaporation chamber generates saturated gases and comprises a shared wall with the condensation chamber and wherein the evaporation chamber is configured to generate evaporation cavities and condensation cavities on respective sides of the shared wall for a 2-phase counter flow of a liquid phase component and a gaseous phase component in composite flows for a 2-phase to 2-phase direct latent heat exchange. A condensation chamber has channels disposed in the input liquid, wherein liquid-saturated gases are generated therefrom in the evaporation chamber. The apparatus is operated as a four-port counter-flow heat exchanger where two different fluids are exchanging heat based on the inlet ports of both fluids being on opposite sides and the outlet ports of both fluids are also on opposite sides of the evaporator and condenser.
