    Abstract: A swash plate type compressor for compressing a refrigerant of an air conditioning system incorporating therein a rotating swash plate made of an aluminum alloy, one or more compressor pistons reciprocating in a cylinder block for effecting compression of the refrigerant, and an operative engagement means which is between the swash plate and the piston or pistons. The operative engagement means is made of a carbon steel material and a flattened face of the operative engagement means contacting the aluminum alloy swash plate consisting of a cementation treatment layer formed in the carbon steel material of the operative engagement means.

    Abstract: In a swash plate type compressor, a partition plate member is located in a high pressure chamber of the compressor housing and divides the high pressure chamber into a plurality of small rooms which are communicated in series through a hole formed on the partition member.     Abstract: A shoe for incorporation into a swash plate type compressor is structured such that tetrafluoroethylene resin material forming a first and second main portions of the shoe contains a metalic reinforcing member embedded between the two main portions the first main portion made of the tetrafluoroethylene is provided with a flat surface contacting a swash plate of the compressor. The second main portion made of the tetrafluoroethylene is formed with a round recess for receiving a ball bearing operatively connected to a piston of the compressor. The reinforcing member is positioned close to the round recess and far from the flat surface.

    Abstract: A fluid device of the axial piston type having high and low pressure operating passages, one of which may be an inlet and the other an outlet depending upon the pumping or motoring function of the device. The fluid device which may be of the fixed or variable displacement type has a rotatable cylinder barrel with each end of a plurality of pistons disposed for reciprocation within cylinder bores in the cylinder barrel, and cylinder ports successively communicating each of the cylinder bores with arcuate inlet and outlet passages formed in a valve face disposed at one end of the cylinder barrel. The other ends of the pistons are drivingly engaged by an inclined thrust plate assembly disposed to impart a reciprocal stroking movement to the pistons within the cylinder bores as the cylinder barrel is rotated. In one example of the invention, the thrust plate assembly is constructed from a pressed sintered material having a predetermined density, the surface of which is hardened by a nitriding or other suitable process.
