Abstract: Embodiments relate to a biodegradable and polymerizable polyester composition, to a biodegradable polyester resin prepared therefrom, and to a process for preparing the same. As the biodegradable and polymerizable polyester composition comprises an inorganic filler in a certain content and satisfies a certain range of viscosity, it has excellent dispersibility during polycondensation; thus, it is possible to control the content of metals in a biodegradable polyester resin prepared from the biodegradable polyester polymerization composition and the dispersion index within optimal ranges. In addition, as the biodegradable and polymerizable polyester composition comprising an inorganic filler is subjected to a polycondensation reaction, the dispersibility during the polycondensation reaction is very excellent, which can suppress the aggregation of inorganic filler particles and prevent filter clogging, resulting in a decrease in defects such as voids in the processing process. Thus, it is possible to provide a biodegradable film and molded article of excellent quality.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention overcome the shortcomings of prior technologies by infusing nanocellulose in a fibrillated form to enhance the properties of cellulose pulp. These properties may include, for example, the mechanical and barrier properties, i.e., tensile strength, liquid, and gas impermeability such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, and oil, can be improved substantially. Another embodiment of the invention further provide a fibrillated cellulose composite material that include a blend of fibrillated cellulose and polymers to create improved properties over cellulose-based materials. The composite material further may be generally free of chemical additives to enhance the above properties.

Abstract: Disclosed is a high ultraviolet blocking polylactic acid composite material reinforced by POSS modified bamboo powder. The preparation method therefor includes steps of carrying out chemical grafting modification of bamboo powder with proper particle size by using POSS containing specific organic groups, and then adding the modified bamboo powder to polylactic acid for melting and co-extrusion to obtain POSS modified bamboo powder. The present disclosure makes full use of the 30% lignin in the bamboo powder, having the advantages of wide source, biological metabolizability and low price; the present disclosure does not need the traditional inorganic ultraviolet blocking agent, nor need to extract refined lignin from natural materials, but directly takes inexpensive and easy-to-obtain bamboo powder as main raw material. The composite material prepared in the present disclosure can greatly improve the UV blocking performance, mechanical properties and thermal stability of the PLA.
