Thermoplastic molding compositions comprising the following components: a) 3 to 91.7 wt % of at least one aromatic polycarbonate, as component A b) 3 to 91.7 wt % of one or more styrene copolymers, as component B c) 3 to 91.7 wt % of one or more impact-modifying grafted rubbers without olefinic double bonding in the rubber plase, as component C, and also d) 0.2 to 0.9 wt % of a compound of formula (I), as component D: e) 0 to 0.9 wt % of a mixture of formula (II), as component E: n=2 to 20 f) 0 to 0.9 wt % of a triazine stabilizer, and also, optionally further components, with the proviso that when component E amounts to 0 wt %, at least one further stabilizer is present in an amount of 0.01 to 0.9 wt %, have good weathering properties.

A dispersion spun fluoropolymer fiber prepared from non-melt-processible polytetrafluoroethylene particles and aluminum oxide particles. The concentration of Al2O3 in the aqueous dispersion may range from between about 0.1% to about 5%, with specific concentration of 0.1%, 1.0. The aqueous dispersion is mixed with an aqueous matrix polymer solution containing a matrix polymer and then extruded into a coagulation bath containing a concentration of ions which coagulate the matrix polymer to form an intermediate fiber structure which carries ionic species. The intermediate fiber structure is sintered to decompose the matrix polymer and coalesce the polytetrafluoroethylene particles and the Al2O3 particles into a blended fiber. The resulting, blended fluoropolymer fiber exhibits improved properties relative to 100% dispersion spun polytetrafluoroethylene fibers.

A biaxially oriented polyester film comprising polyester and at least one hydrolysis stabiliser selected from a glycidyl ester of a branched monocarboxylic acid, wherein the monocarboxylic acid has from 5 to 50 carbon atoms, wherein said hydrolysis stabiliser is present in the film in the form of its reaction product with at least some of the end-groups of said polyester, and wherein said reaction product is obtained by the reaction of the hydrolysis stabiliser with the end-groups of the polyester in the presence of a metal cation selected from the group consisting of Group I and Group II metal cations.

To provide a non-crosslinked flame-retardant resin composition possessing sufficient flame retardancy, mechanical properties, flexibility and workability, and also delivering excellent heat resistance over a long period of time as it is hard to be molten when used under high temperature environment and its material is not deteriorated even if used in contact with a vinyl chloride resin material and the like, and an insulated wire and a wiring harness using the same. The composition includes (A) a non-crosslinked base resin which contains a propylene resin containing 50 wt % or more of propylene monomer and a thermoplastic resin of which a melting point is 180° C. or more, (B) a metallic hydrate, (C) a hindered phenolic antioxidant, (D) a sulfurous antioxidant, and (E) a metallic oxide. Polymethylpentene, an imidazole compound and an oxide of zinc are preferably utilized as the thermoplastic resin, the ingredients (D) and (E), respectively. The composition is used as an insulated covering material for a non-halogenous insulated wire, which is used in a wire bundle of the wiring harness.

A thermoplastic composition includes particular amounts of a poly(arylene ether), a hydrogenated block copolymer, a copolymer of ethylene and an alpha-olefin, a plasticizer, a white pigment, and an ultraviolet radiation stabilizer. The composition exhibits excellent light stability, and it is particularly useful for forming white or off-white cable insulation.
