These inventions related to systems and methods for producing, shipping, distributing, and storing hydrogen. In one embodiment, a hydrogen production and storage system includes a plurality of wind turbines for generating electrical power; a power distribution control system for distributing, and converting the electrical power from the wind turbines, a water desalination and/or purification unit which receives and purifies seawater, and an electrolyzer unit that receive electrical power from the power distribution system and purified water from the desalination units and thereby converts the water into hydrogen and oxygen. After its production, hydrogen is stored, transported, and distributed in accordance with various embodiments.
Abstract:
A charge station is provided for filling a gas cylinder with gas. The charge station includes a gas output port configured to be fluidly connected to a supply of gas. The gas output port is configured to be fluidly connected to the gas cylinder for filling the gas cylinder with gas from the supply of gas. The charge station also includes a control system operatively connected to the gas output such that the control system is configured to control filling of the gas cylinder, and a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader operatively connected to the control system, the RFD reader configured to read data from an RFID tag on the gas cylinder.
Abstract:
A remaining lifetime of a pressure vessel mounted on a fuel cell vehicle or the like and comprises a liner at its inner side and a reinforcing layer at its outer side can be predicted with high precision and in short time. An artificial imperfect structure is formed at an outer surface of the liner in a size capable of being maintained by a weakest part of a hydrogen gas tank throughout the total period of use of the hydrogen gas tank. A detector is, for example, comprised of a crack gauge intervening between the liner and the reinforcing layer, and is fixed to the outer surface of the liner close to the artificial imperfect structure. A crack length increases accompanying the increase of a pressure cycle of an internal pressure caused by usage of the hydrogen gas tank. The detector increases a resistance value accompanying a crack growth.
Abstract:
Provided are an LNG storage container with an inner shell, which is capable of efficiently storing LNG or pressurized LNG (PLNG) pressurized at a predetermined pressure and supplying the LNG or PLNG to a consumption place, and capable of reducing manufacturing costs by minimizing the use of a metal having excellent low temperature characteristic, and a method for manufacturing the same. The LNG storage container includes: an inner shell configured to store LNG inside; an outer shell configured to enclose the outside of the inner shell such that a space is formed between the inner shell and the outer shell; a support installed in the space between the inner shell and the outer shell to support the inner shell and the outer shell; and a heat insulation layer part installed in the space between the inner shell and the outer shell and configured to reduce a heat transfer.
Abstract:
A security device for gas cylinders or crates of gas cylinders, comprises a carrier adapted to be fixed to the gas cylinder or crate; a REID-tag provided on said carrier having a storage for storing an expiry date or any other data regarding the durability of the gas contained in said gas cylinder; a processor for checking the durability; and a display indicating the durability and/or passing of the expiry date. The security device may have a closed electric circuit with a current- or voltage supply adapted to be switched off; and means for generating an optic-, acoustic- and/or wireless transmittable alarm signal upon disruption of the electric circuit.
Abstract:
A pressure vessel for transporting compressed gas at very high pressure without failing includes an inverted neck at the head so that pressure from compressed gas is applied to the neck in a converging manner. A plug valve is inserted into the opening defined by the neck to seal the pressure vessel. As pressure from the compressed gas enclosed in the pressure vessel increases, engagement between the neck and the plug also increases. Therefore, the pressure vessel can withstand higher levels of pressure from compressed gas before failing during hydro and burst testing.
Abstract:
A fuel cartridge, which is capable of being mounted on a tool main body of a gas-combustion type driving tool so as to supply fuel gas to a striking mechanism of the tool main body, is provided with an ejection nozzle provided at a port portion formed at an end portion of a cartridge main body and slidable with respect to the cartridge main body; a compression spring for biasing the ejection nozzle so that a tip end of the ejection nozzle protrudes from the cartridge main body; and an ejection hole formed at a side wall of a tip end portion of the ejection nozzle.
