Abstract: Disclosed are gas cylinder assemblies for containing pressurized gas. The gas cylinder assembly has a polymeric liner and a low-permeability barrier layer. The polymeric liner a first end portion, a second end portion and a central body. The central body comprises an outer surface and an inner surface disposed between the first end and the second end. The gas cylinder assembly comprises a reinforcement structure wound over the central body. The gas cylinder assembly further comprises a metal foil interposed between the reinforcement structure and central body. The metal foil is configured to reduce permeation of contents of the polymeric liner.

Abstract: An ammonia synthesis system and a control method thereof are provided. The ammonia synthesis system includes a hydrogen supply device, where a fluctuating amount of hydrogen is provided by the hydrogen supply device; a hydrogen storage container configured to store the hydrogen provided by the hydrogen supply device; and a nitrogen supply device configured to communicate with the hydrogen storage container to introduce nitrogen into the hydrogen storage container to maintain a stable pressure in the hydrogen storage container. The nitrogen supply device is able to introduce nitrogen into the hydrogen storage container, thus the amount of hydrogen provided is stable; in addition, the ammonia synthesis system can not only meet requirements of application scenarios where synthesis gas is produced from conventional raw material, but also be well applied to application scenarios where hydrogen for ammonia synthesis is obtained from hydrogen generation by green electricity.

Abstract: A self-contained breathing apparatus includes an air cylinder pressurized to about 5500 psig, wherein the air cylinder is compatible with infrastructure used in conjunction with the air cylinder. The self-contained breathing apparatus also includes a first regulator valve for reducing air pressure from the air cylinder to a predetermined level. A second regulator valve is also provided for reducing the air pressure from the predetermined level to a level suitable for use by an operator, wherein air is supplied from the second regulator valve to the operator via a mask. The self-contained breathing apparatus further includes a frame for supporting the air cylinder on the back of the operator. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Onboard hydrogen storage of 5-13 kg of H2 is required to enable a vehicle driving range greater than 500 Kms, using pot fuel cell or internal combustion engines. Current storage systems face many challenges related to cost, durability/operability, charge/discharge rates and safety, which may limit widespread commercialization of vehicles powered by hydrogen. The present invention aims to overcome these challenges and is based on a modular cellular solid product platform system that stores gases such as hydrogen in interconnected unit cells at pressures up to or exceeding 100 MPa. The system provides a more efficient and safer way of storing gases for mobility applications and other, with greater performance, allowing a wider spread of hydrogen as the fuel of the future.

Abstract: An inflatable structure for gas storage includes an inner bladder containing a gas for storage and an outer wall spaced from the inner bladder. An intermediate space between the bladder and the outer wall is pressurized with a gas (such as air) other than the storage gas so that the structure is protected from environmental conditions such as wind and snow loading. The bladder and outer wall may be flexible fabric membranes and may be provided with lightweight support frames. The structures may be combined in a network of like structures for large scale storage.

Abstract: An insulated spherical pressure vessel, such as a sphere, having an insulation system installed thereon. The insulation system includes an equatorial support including an equatorial support bar having upper and lower rods attached to upper and lower sides, and a plurality of clips perpendicular to the bar, the clips having one or more holes for additional rods. One or more insulation layers are installed and held against the sphere wall by metal bands. A cable support matrix including metal straps and horizontal cables is installed over the insulation layers, and then insulation panels are secured to the matrix cables using fasteners. The insulation panels each include insulation material and an exterior metal jacket. The panels are secured to horizontally adjacent insulation panels with standing seams. The cables are not secured to the metal straps in any way, but are allowed to freely move through belt loops of the metal straps.
