Abstract: The disclosure provides a light guide plate, a backlight unit, a display device and a display control system. The light guide plate has a first operation state and a second operation state. In the first operation state, an upper surface of the light guide plate is a surface where light comes out, and in the second operation state, the upper surface of the light guide plate includes a light exiting region and a non-light exiting region. In the technical solution of the present disclosure, when the display device performs a regional displaying, the light guide plate operates in the second operation state, here the upper surface of the light guide plate includes the light exiting region and the non-light exiting region; light emitted by a light source finally comes out from the light exiting region of the light guide plate after reflections inside the light guide plate.

Abstract: An electronic device which can display an image with the viewing angle dependence reduced is provided. A driving method of an electronic device including a display portion and a position detection sensor is provided. The display portion includes a first display element and a second display element. The first display element is configured to reflect visible light, and the second display element is configured to emit visible light. The display portion is configured to display an image using one or both of first light reflected by the first display element and second light emitted by the second display element. The position detection sensor is configured to detect a position of a user. When the display portion displays the image using both the first light and the second light, an amount of the second light is adjusted in accordance with an angle from which the display portion is viewed by the user.

Abstract: A display panel comprises a first substrate and a second substrate which are assembled to form a cell and a control unit. The first substrate is provided with a plurality of first light-emitting units which are double-sided light emitting devices thereon, and the second substrate is provided with a plurality of second light-emitting units which are double-sided light emitting devices thereon. The control unit is configured to control the first light-emitting units and the second light-emitting units to emit light or not to emit light. The display panel further comprises a grating-function layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The grating-function layer comprises controllable light blocking regions and controllable light transmissive regions, and the light blocking regions and the light transmissive regions cooperate with the first light-emitting units and the second light-emitting units to realize single-sided display or double-sided display.

Abstract: The embodiment of the present application discloses a 2D/3D switchable display panel, and a display method and a display device thereof, so as to solve the problem of poor display effect in 2D display mode of existing 2D/3D display panel. The 2D/3D switchable display panel includes a self-luminescent OLED display panel and a LCD panel provided with no color resistance layer, which LCD display panel is disposed on the display side of the OLED display panel. The OLED display panel is used for display images when the 2D/3D switchable display panel operates in 3D display mode while functions as a backlight source module when the 2D/3D switchable display panel operates in 2D display mode; whereas the LCD display panel functions as a grating when the 2D/3D switchable display panel operates in 3D display mode while displays images when the 2D/3D switchable display panel operates in 2D display mode.

Abstract: A novel metal oxide is provided. The metal oxide has a plurality of energy gaps, and includes a first region having a high energy level of a conduction band minimum and a second region having an energy level of a conduction band minimum lower than that of the first region. The second region comprises more carriers than the first region. A difference between the energy level of the conduction band minimum of the first region and the energy level of the conduction band minimum of the second region is 0.2 eV or more. The energy gap of the first region is greater than or equal to 3.3 eV and less than or equal to 4.0 eV and the energy gap of the second region is greater than or equal to 2.2 eV and less than or equal to 2.9 eV.

Abstract: To provide a display device with high visibility or low power consumption. The display device includes a self-luminous display element and a reflective display element. The reflective display element includes a light-reflective layer and a layer containing a liquid crystal material. The self-luminous display element transmits visible light. The layer containing the liquid crystal material includes a region located between the light-reflective layer and the self-luminous display element. The display device further includes a polarizing plate, and the polarizing plate preferably includes a region located between the layer containing the liquid crystal material and the self-luminous display element. Alternatively, the self-luminous display element preferably includes a region located between the layer containing the liquid crystal material and the polarizing plate. The display device further preferably includes one coloring film or two or more coloring films, and the one coloring film or one of the two or more coloring films preferably includes at least a region located between the layer containing the liquid crystal material and the self-luminous display element.

Abstract: A vehicular rearview assembly is provided that includes a display configured to emit light of a first polarization. A reflective polarizer is positioned adjacent the display. The reflective polarizer is configured to transmit the light of the first polarization and reflect light of a second polarization and an electro-optic element is positioned on an opposite side of the reflective polarizer than the display. The electro-optic element is configured to transition between substantially clear and substantially darkened states. The electro-optic element includes a plurality of electrochromic molecules substantially aligned with the second polarization of the light such that the electro-optic element is configured to substantially absorb the light of the second polarization when in the darkened state.
