Abstract: A system for storing air at high pressure underground or underwater includes a plurality of arrays of air tanks, each tank configured to store compressed air at a pressure of at least 40 bar. A piping system connects between an outlet of each air tank, the piping system further including at least one central port for delivering compressed air to and from a respective array. A storage receptacle surrounds the arrays and piping system, protecting the arrays and piping system from an external environment, and thermally insulating the arrays and piping system. A liquid bath is arranged within the storage receptacle. A heat exchanger is configured to maintain a temperature of the liquid bath substantially constant. The storage receptacle may be comprised of plastic pieces welded together in a modular fashion. Each piece may be a cylindrical tube configured to receive therein one or more of the arrays.

Abstract: A fuel transfer station may provide for the refilling of fuel canisters providing fuel to combustion powered equipment. The fuel transfer station may include a base, a frame coupled to the base, a first connection port and a second connection port provided in the base, and fluid flow lines connecting the first connection port and the second connection port. A supply tank may be supported by the frame and detachably connected to the first connection port. A fuel canister to be refilled may be detachably connected to the second connection port. Fuel contained in the supply tank may be selectively supplied to the fuel canister through the fluid flow lines in response to a pressure gradient drawing the fuel into the fuel canister.

Abstract: A modular tank system includes at least two pressure tanks and a mounting frame. Each of the tanks includes a pressure vessel and a protection frame within which the vessel is arranged, the protection frame is adapted such that multiple tanks may be mounted on top of each other and the vessel includes a vent outlet and an inlet, where the outlet is arranged in an upper half of the vessel, the inlet is arranged in a lower half of the vessel and is fluidly connected to a tank process line, which includes a first fluid connector and a second fluid connector on opposite ends of the tank process line, such that the second connector of a first tank is connectable to the first connector of a second tank, when the second tank is mounted on top of the first tank; and the mounting frame includes a base frame.

Abstract: An insulated spherical pressure vessel, such as a sphere, having an insulation system installed thereon. The insulation system includes an equatorial support including an equatorial support bar having upper and lower rods attached to upper and lower sides, and a plurality of clips perpendicular to the bar, the clips having one or more holes for additional rods. One or more insulation layers are installed and held against the sphere wall by metal bands. A cable support matrix including metal straps and horizontal cables is installed over the insulation layers, and then insulation panels are secured to the matrix cables using fasteners. The insulation panels each include insulation material and an exterior metal jacket. The panels are secured to horizontally adjacent insulation panels with standing seams. The cables are not secured to the metal straps in any way, but are allowed to freely move through belt loops of the metal straps.

Abstract: A high-pressure gas container (100) includes an inner layer (11) configured such that high-pressure gas is filled inside, a boss part (13-1, 13-2) provided at least at one position of the inner layer and configured to cause the gas to flow in and out, and an outer layer (12) configured to cover an outer periphery of the inner layer to reinforce the inner layer and having a higher gas barrier property than the inner layer. A gas discharge port (15-1, 15-2) is provided between the boss part and the outer layer, and a gas ventilation part (14) is formed between the inner layer and the outer layer such that the gas having permeated through the inner layer is discharged into atmosphere through the gas discharge port.
