    Abstract: A circuit for providing a plurality of distinguishable audible signals from an audible tone generator includes at least two gates wherein the output of one of the gates determines the type of audible signal produced by the audible tone generator in response thereto. The circuit further includes a single control terminal for controlling the logical state the output of the one gate and for controlling the type of audible signal produced by the audible tone generator. The absence of an electrical potential at the control terminal when power is applied to the circuit results in a latching of the output of the one gate and the production of a continuous audible signal by the audible tone generator. The presence of an electrical potential at the control terminal when power is applied to the circuit results in a periodic changing of the output of the one gate and the production of an interrupted audible signal by the audible tone generator.

    Abstract: A ceramic crystal transducer is connected to a direct current supply in series with a pair of transistors. A pair of independent multivibrator oscillators are connected, each controlling one of the transistors. Each oscillator establishes a rectangular wave and is provided with a continuously adjustable resistor for controlling the output frequency of the corresponding oscillator. The one oscillator is constructed to produce a frequency and a voltage to excite the crystal at the order of the natural resonant frequency and to thereby produce an audio output signal. The second multivibrator oscillator selectively controls the second transistor to control the on/off or pulsing rate of the tone related audible signal. The crystal is pulsed at the output rate of the tone oscillator and vibrates at the fundamental frequency of the rectangular wave as well as harmonics to either side of such fundamental frequency to produce a full and pleasant sound. Variation of the repetition rate of the output signal of the tone generator to either side of the natural resonant frequency of the crystal correspondingly varies the pitch and intensity of the emitted sound to distinguish adjacent alarms. The pulse rate oscillator permits further distinction by adjustment of the signal duty cycle.

    Abstract: An electronic remote control transmitter employs a two transistor cascade oscillator having positive and negative feedback loops. The oscillator voltage is supplied through a switch assembly containing a plurality of momentary contact switches to a pair of voltage dividers supplying signal voltages in predetermined ratios to a two branch circuit in the negative feedback loop. One branch contains an inductor and the second branch a capacitor. Closure of any switch completes the DC circuits for the transistors. Signal voltage is supplied to the branches to produce a minimum amplitude, zero phase shift condition which establishes oscillation at that predetermined frequency. The output of the oscillator is amplified by a third transistor and supplied to an ultrasonic transducer for generating acoustical control signals.

    Abstract: The invention discloses various embodiments of an ultrasonic motor and converter adapted to be used in home or industrial ultrasonic devices. The ultrasonic motor is generally of a piezoelectric material having a removable tip or of a design in which the complete motor is contained in a housing, which housing has electrical contact means adapted to be plugged into an adapter which, in turn, is connected to a converter. The motor is designed such that frequency sensing means is provided therein and the feedback signal is utilized by the converter to adjust itself thereto. The converter includes tuned circuit means tuned to a band including a desired frequency for sustaining the vibration of said motor at the desired frequency.
