Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method (400) of evaluating a fluidic substance (10) having particles (11). The method (400) comprises capturing a reference image (202) of at least a portion of a container (102) that is in an empty state; determining a reference grayscale value (V1) of at least a portion of the reference image (202); aspirating a volume of the fluidic substance (10) into the container (102); capturing a test image (252) of the container (102) containing the aspirated volume of the fluidic substance (10); determining a test grayscale value (V2) of at least a portion of the test image (252); calibrating a universal calibration curve (56) relating particle concentration and grayscale value based on the reference and test grayscale values (V1, V2); and determining a particle concentration (P1) in the fluidic substance (10) based on the test grayscale value (V2) and the calibrated universal calibration curve (60).

Abstract: Assays (100) may be performed with a luminometer (400) having a chassis (405) that may include a reaction vessel chamber (610). The luminometer (400) may also include a light passage (640) that intersects the reaction vessel chamber (610). The luminometer (400) may also include a cap (415) that, when in a closed configuration, prevents light emitted by external sources from entering the reaction vessel chamber (610) and from entering the light passage (640). The cap (415) may provide access to the reaction vessel chamber (610) when in an open configuration. The luminometer (400) may also include a calibration light source (460) optically coupled to one end of the light passage (640) and a light detector (630) optically coupled to another end of the light passage (640). The light detector (630) may include a sensing element for receiving light from the light passage (640).

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of determining a major adverse cardiovascular event, risk of MACE, in a patient, is provided. The method comprises receiving, with a computing device, subject value data for the patient, the subject value data including (i) at least one troponin value, (ii) at least one demographic value, and (iii) at least one of a value for prior history of cardiac disease, a value of prior history of renal disease, an erythrocyte mean corpuscular hemoglobin value and an electrolyte value. Further, the method comprises evaluating, with the computing device, the received subject value data of the patient based on a reference dataset indicative of reference subject values associated with one or more reference patients, wherein the reference dataset is indicative of reference subject values including (i) at least one troponin value, (ii) at least one demographic value, and (iii) a value for prior history of cardiac disease. Further, the risk of MACE is determined based on the evaluation.

Abstract: A system (100) is provided for an automated analyzer (10) having an analyzer arrangement (20) configured to consume liquid consumables (30L) when in an active mode (12). The liquid consumables (30L) are delivered to the automated analyzer (10) via consumables containers (30). The system (100) comprises a storage magazine (120) configured to removably hold at least one of the consumables containers (30), a tray (150) configured to manually receive one or more of the consumables containers (30) from an operator at least while the analyzer arrangement (20) is in the active mode (12), and a transfer system (250) configured to transfer one or more of the consumables containers (30) at least between the tray (150) and the storage magazine (120). The transfer system (250) transfers one or more of the consumables containers (30) to or from the storage magazine (120) at least while the tray (150) manually receives one or more of the consumables containers (30) from the operator.
