Abstract:
An apparatus, method, and computer program product for rotating a rendered surface. The apparatus includes a graphics processor configured to render a surface, wherein a display orientation parameter is associated with the surface, the display orientation parameter defining a rotation process. The apparatus further includes a display processor configured to rotate the rendered surface in accordance with the display orientation parameter. Preferably, the display orientation parameter is an EGL surface attribute.
Abstract:
An apparatus, method, and computer program product for applying transparency to a rendered surface. The apparatus comprises a graphics processor configured to render a surface, wherein a transparency parameter is associated with the surface, the transparency parameter defining a blending process. The apparatus further includes a display processor configured to blend the rendered surface in accordance with the transparency parameter. Preferably, the transparency parameter is an EGL surface attribute.
Abstract:
Acetic acid is produced by oxidation of methane with an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of an acid selected from concentrated sulfuric acid and fuming sulfuric acid, a palladium-containing catalyst and a promoter, preferably a copper or iron salt. The addition of a promoter and O2 to a system that includes a palladium-containing catalyst such as PdCl2 increases the rate of acetic acid formation from methane by more than an order of magnitude as compared with prior art and, in addition, inhibits the precipitation of Pd black.
Abstract:
A blade outer air seal (BOAS) for a gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a seal body having a radially inner face and a radially outer face that axially extend between a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion and a seal land that extends from the seal body and includes an inward pointing extension that extends radially inwardly from the radially inner face.
Abstract:
A diffuser seal for an aft end of a high pressure compressor of a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The diffuser seal includes a flow guide carrier coupled to the diffuser case. The flow guide carrier is also coupled to a static seal. The static seal engages a rotary seal and permits air flow through the static and rotary seals in the aft direction. The flow guide carrier is also coupled to a fairing and a fairing/hub support. The flow guide carrier supports the fairing in a spaced-apart position with respect to the rear hub so that air flowing through the static and rotary seals passes between a forward surface of the fairing and the rear hub. The fairing/hub support extends forward from the flow guide support and engages an aft surface of the fairing thereby limiting movement of the rear hub and fairing in the aft direction. This design helps to prevent parts or debris from piercing the rear hub and entering the high pressure turbine in the even of a fan blade-out or fan blade-off event.
Abstract:
A blade outer air seal (BOAS) for a gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a seal body having a radially inner face and a radially outer face that axially extend between a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion. At least one of the leading edge portion and the trailing edge portion includes a solid wall and a perforated wall. At least a portion of the perforated wall is spaced from the solid wall such that a passage extends between the solid wall and the perforated wall.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates generally to mold compositions and methods of molding and the articles so molded. More specifically, the disclosure relates to mold compositions, intrinsic facecoat compositions, and methods for casting titanium-containing articles, and the titanium-containing articles so molded.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for drilling to a target location include a control system that receives an input comprising a planned drilling path to a target location and determines a projected location of a bottom hole assembly of a drilling system. The projected location of the bottom hole assembly is compared to the planned drilling path to determine a deviation amount. A modified drilling path is created to the target location as selected based on the amount of deviation from the planned drilling path, and drilling rig control signals that steer the bottom hole assembly of the drilling system to the target location along the modified drilling path are generated to intersect the planned drilling path if the amount of deviation from the planned path exceeds a first threshold amount of deviation.
