Abstract: A traffic light detection system for a vehicle is provided. The system may include at least one processing device programmed to receive, from at least one image capture device, a plurality of images representative of an area forward of the vehicle, the area including a traffic light fixture having at least one traffic light. The at least one processing device may also be programmed to analyze at least one of the plurality of images to determine a status of the at least one traffic light, and determine an estimated amount of time until the vehicle will reach an intersection associated with the traffic light fixture. The at least one processing device may further be programmed to cause a system response based on the status of at least one traffic light and the estimated amount of time until the vehicle will reach the intersection.

Abstract: System and techniques for test verification of a control system (e.g., a vehicle safety system) with a vehicle operation safety model (VOSM) such as Responsibility Sensitive Safety (RSS) are described. In an example, using test scenarios to measure performance of VOSM includes: defining safety condition parameters of a VOSM for use in a test scenario configured to test performance of a safety system; generating a test scenario, using the safety condition parameters, the test scenario generated as a steady state test, a dynamic test, or a stress test; executing the test scenario with a test simulator, to produce test results for the safety system; measuring real-time kinematics of the safety system, during execution of the test scenario, based on compliance with the safety condition parameters; and producing a parameter rating for performance of the safety system with the VOSM, based on the test results and the measured real-time kinematics.

Abstract: A system for mapping a lane mark for use in autonomous vehicle navigation is provided. The system includes at least one processor programmed to: receive two or more location identifiers associated with a detected lane mark; associate the detected lane mark with a corresponding road segment; update an autonomous vehicle road navigation model relative to the corresponding road segment based on the two or more location identifiers associated with the detected lane mark; and distribute the updated autonomous vehicle road navigation model to a plurality of autonomous vehicles.

Abstract: A navigation system may include a processor programmed to receive, from a camera of the host vehicle, one or more images captured from an environment of the host vehicle, and analyze the one or more images to detect an indicator of an intersection. The processor may also be programmed to determine, based on output received from at least one sensor of the host vehicle, a stopping location of the host vehicle relative to the detected intersection, and analyze the one or more images to determine an indicator of whether one or more other vehicles are in front of the host vehicle. The processor may further be programmed to send the stopping location of the host vehicle and the indicator of whether one or more other vehicles are in front of the host vehicle to a server for use in updating a road navigation model.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for navigating a host vehicle. A navigation system for the host vehicle may include at least one processor programmed to receive images representative of an environment of the host vehicle; analyze at least one of the images to identify navigational state information associated with the host vehicle; determine a plurality of first potential navigational actions for the host vehicle based on the navigational state information; determine respective future states for the plurality of first potential navigational actions; determine a plurality of second potential navigational actions for the host vehicle based on the determined respective future states; select, based on the plurality of second potential navigational actions, one of the plurality of first potential navigational actions; and cause an adjustment of a navigational actuator of the host vehicle to implement the selected one of the plurality of first potential navigational actions.
