Abstract: A curtain sanitizer device and method, such as for use in the healthcare industry, is disclosed that can sanitize at least a portion of the surface of a hung curtain, e.g. a privacy curtain, by directing UV-C light thereat to kill or inactivate harmful microorganisms thereon that can cause infectious disease, thereby reducing the risk of spreading infectious disease. In one example, at least a portion of opposite surfaces or sides of the hung curtain can be simultaneously sanitized. The curtain sanitizer device and method can allow the curtain to be cleaned in place, and can be easier to use and less costly and time consuming than other currently available methods and devices.

Abstract: Described is a controlled weight distribution woven terry fabric that includes a body having a first end and a second end, wherein the first and second ends are opposite one another and a first side edge 34 and a second side edge, wherein the first and second side edges are opposite one another and generally perpendicular to the first and second opposite ends. The terry fabric further includes a plurality of zones extending across the fabric between one of the first and second opposite ends or the first and second opposite edges. Each zone of the plurality of zones has a pile with a pile height and the pile height in a zone differs from the pile height in an adjacent zone and the difference between the pile heights in adjacent zones is in a range between about 0.1 mm and about 2 mm. Also described are articles, such as towels, wash cloths, and bath mats, made from the controlled weight distribution woven terry fabric.

Abstract: A curtain assembly is provided, including a curtain track that is configured to be secured to a ceiling or a wall. The curtain assembly further includes a curtain suspended from the curtain track. The curtain assembly further includes a plurality of hooks to suspend the curtain from and slidably secure the curtain to the curtain track. The curtain assembly further includes an end cap located adjacent to and surrounding an exterior portion of an end of the curtain track. A portion of the end cap is configured to selectively transition between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the portion of the end cap is configured to restrict at least one hook of the plurality of hooks from entering or exiting the curtain track. The curtain assembly is configured to enable curtain replacement without specialized hand tools while also reducing ambient noise during use.

Abstract: A simulated duvet cover system provides an easily-assembled multi-layer construction in which first and second cover layers formed by fabric sheets are removably coupled to an intermediate layer defined by a blanket or comforter and sandwiched between the cover layers. Each of the first and second cover layers is separately coupled to the intermediate layer using respective first and second fastening elements, which may include snaps, hook and loop fasteners, magnets, and the like. The coupling may be limited to being at the corner portions and along one of four side/end edges of the layers to promote quick and easy removal of the cover layers when those require cleaning. The cover layers are sized such that portions of these cover layers overlie or cover up the fastening elements when the cover system is assembled on a bed, thereby providing a similar appearance to a conventional duvet cover.

Abstract: An adjustable height bed skirt is provided for covering a gap defined between a mattress of a bed and a floor surface upon which the bed sits. The bed skirt includes a decking panel with a plurality of fastening strips spaced-apart from one another and extending along the bottom edge and side edges of the decking panel. A skirt panel includes a fastening strip that can be removably coupled to one of the plurality of fastening strips on the decking panel to adjust a vertical drop height that the skirt panel covers as it extends along three sides of the bed. The skirt panel includes corner pleats and the decking panel includes bottom corner portions, each of which do not include the fastening strips. Additionally, color-coded indicia elements are applied to the fastening strips on the decking panel to assist with connecting the skirt panel in the desired position.

Abstract: A simulated duvet cover system provides an easily-manufactured and assembled construction in which a cover layer, defined by top and bottom fabric sheets with pockets defined therebetween, is configured to be removably coupled to a separate fill layer, defined by a blanket or comforter. The bottom fabric sheet extends inwardly from the periphery of the top fabric sheet to surround a central opening, which the fill layer can be inserted through and then tucked into the pockets. A further backing layer may be connected to the cover layer with non-metallic and non-rigid fasteners such as fabric knot buttons, to cover the central opening. The system hides the appearance of the fill layer when in use, thereby providing a similar appearance to a conventional duvet cover, while still allowing for easy removal and cleaning of the system with industrial laundering equipment or the like.

Abstract: A simulated platform bed system is used with a bed having a mattress and a mattress support, typically provided as a box spring and frame supporting the mattress by a spacing above a floor surface. The system includes an exterior aspect with a decorative feature, as well as a base typically defining a single, continuous piece extending along the side edges and the foot end edge of the bed. At least a portion of the base is made of a plurality of vertically-oriented slats connected together. The slats may be located at corner portions or along an entire length of the system. The system covers the spacing to create the appearance of a platform bed upon which the mattress appears to be supported, even though the weight support of the mattress is through the mattress support rather than the system.

Abstract: A personal protective equipment (PPE) isolation gown is provided that can be used by workers in the healthcare industry. The isolation gown has a front opening configuration and is further designed with fasteners that facilitate ease of adjustment and donning and removing without substantial risk of the transfer of potentially harmful microorganisms, particularly to the hair on the head or neck of a wearer, and also is relatively more efficient to manufacture, thereby providing a cost-effective alternative to various styles of currently available isolation gowns.

Abstract: Distribution and dispensing modalities are provided for reusable medical gowns which involves generally loose handling thereof. Dispensing containers have a collapsible sidewall structure extending between opposite ends and defining therebetween an interior when un-collapsed or erected, at least one of the ends defining an opening through which clean, reusable medical gowns can be loaded, a closure repeatably manipulatable to open and close the opening, and a controllable access aperture at least a portion, or all, of which is spaced from the opening through which to selectively remove a clean, reusable medical gown. The loaded dispensing container may be transported to or around a healthcare facility and placed where needed for ready access at the point-of-use to clean, reusable medical gowns through the controllable access aperture.
