There are described novel pyrazole compounds represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein Y is a silver halide developing substituent or a precursor thereof; R is --OH, --NH.sub.2 or --NHSO.sub.2 --R.sub.1 ; R.sub.1 is alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms or phenyl; and m and n are the same or different and each is an integer of from 1 to 6. The pyrazole compounds are useful as intermediates in the preparation of azo and azomethine dye developers or as silver halide developing agents.

Chrome-complexed hexadentate dyes which include an ortho, ortho-dihydroxy azo or azomethine dye moiety, a colorless ligand which is a radical of an iminodiacetic acid and a linkage connecting the ligand to the dye moiety. In one embodiment the dyes include a photographically useful group and are also useful in photographic applications.

The novel 2:1 chrome complexed dye developers have the following structure: ##STR1## where each A is a phenyl radical; each B is a phenyl or nitrogen containing heterocyclic radical; Y is a silver halide developing substituent; each n is 0 or 1 but at least one n must be 1; R is N or CH; R.sup.1 is ##STR2## if R is N but R.sup.1 is --O-- if R is CH and X is a cation.

A blue-colored filter element of an additive color screen possessing enhanced light stability is prepared by applying to a hydrophilic colloid area an acid triphenyl methane dye and a phthalocyanine dye possessing at least two sulfonic acid groups.
