Abstract: The interior of a mailbox is illuminated with a highly efficient LED lamp powered by a rechargeable battery. The LED lamp is turned on when the mailbox door is opened. A solar panel is mounted under a light-transmitting cover located on the roof of the mailbox for recharging the battery. The illumination system is for the most part composed of a pair of compact modular assemblies which are carried by the mailbox.

Abstract: A freestanding humidifier is provided with a movable base tray which is adapted to slide into and out of the bottom rear portion of the humidifier housing. The base tray is contoured to receive a pair of large volume water tanks which can be easily removed, refilled and reinstalled on the base tray. A large diameter fan is mounted in the humidifier and positioned to exhaust air in a substantially horizontal flow path from the humidifier into the ambient surroundings.

Abstract: A compact lighting assembly includes a circuit board having a battery, a light, a switching circuit and a push button switch selectively powering the light with the battery via the switching circuit. The operating life of the compact lighting assembly is increased by using a rechargeable battery charged by a photovoltaic device such as a solar cell. Even greater operating life is achieved with the use of a light-actuated switch, such as a photocell or photodiode, which limits or cuts off battery draw and illumination of the light in daylight or lighted ambient conditions and enables illumination of the light in dark ambient conditions such as nighttime and low light environments. An indicator such as a visible light is provided for identifying whether or not an infrared light is on and drawing power.

Abstract: A multifunction flashlight includes an audio recorder, a video recorder and a flashlight having one or more operating modes. The flashlight includes an audio microphone secured within a water-tight interior compartment in the body of the flashlight. A storage compartment is provided in a rear portion of the flashlight for removably storing one or more light diffuser caps which are selectively mountable over the flashlight lens. A port in the wall of the flashlight can be opened to improve audio reception and sensitivity of a microphone housed within the flashlight. A resilient switch cover is provided with two or more differently textured surface portions to allow an operator to identify an audio, video or lighting function by tactile feel or touch. A delay circuit can be provided to protect the audio anchor video functions from in advertent or unintentional actuation.
